PVP Enabled/Disabled Servers

  • I’ve spent a lot of time over the years playing PVP focused MMORPG games, both on Roblox and off of it. These are games where you can randomly walk up to somebody in a full loot PVP zone, stab them in the back, and then steal everything that they were carrying, potentially setting them back by days, weeks, or even months worth of progress. I did that to people fairly regularly in those games. In Arcane Adventures, I was a shameless A.G lieutenant who spent a lot of time ganking other players and generally just being cruel to others.

That being said, here are my thoughts on the changes proposed by Vetex.

  • Massive fucking W.
    These changes are objectively positive for the future of the game.

  • Having forced PVP in every single part of the game world is so hilariously short sighted that almost none of the PVP focused MMORPG games even do it.

  • Even the ones that do, such as Eve Online, have systems put in place to heavily deter players from randomly attacking innocent players close to hub areas. A good example of this is Eve Online’s CONCORD faction, an NPC police force which sends a battleship to instakill anyone who attacks innocent players.

So yeah, having PVP be an opt-in feature that you have to willingly get involved with only makes sense.

Casual players and non-combatants shouldn’t have to stress constantly about getting jumped by a squad of pvp players, they never signed up for that and are just trying to enjoy the game.
