In this topic I plan to talk about how it is like being a leader of a huge clan and some of the ‘’hidden’’ sides of this game and its bad moderation.

A few months ago after my friend and I left our old LB clan due to negligence from our leader, we decided to make our own clan after taking a small break. With nothing else to do in this game we thought it would be the last bit of content we could siphon from this game.

It took a literal month deciding on everything such as: clan name, clan logo, clan ranks, requirements, rules, the entire discord server, etc. Eventually, as it started to get completed; my friend, yet again, was not in a healthy mental state and just dipped our friendship leaving me to rule our upcoming clan alone.

After finishing everything and making the clan official, we grew at such insane speeds it’s actually funny.

This game, by all means, is at this point just a ragebait game. There’s an unfathomable amount of degenerate children in this game only wanting to ruin your fun for whatever reason. Me and my clan have been targeted and harassed during our entire 4 months of growth by so many different individuals and clans I’ve lost count at this point.

Being the only individual hosting all the events, moderating members, moderation, dealing with drama etc,. is an enormous struggle sometimes. And oh my gosh the drama, it will come pouring down every single day no matter what.

We’ve been targeted by so many top clans it’s almost funny, and every single one (except bug abusers) gets their asses kicked, and oh they will trash talk,(( cry on sight by the word ‘’size/AoE’’,)) complain and target us even more due to continuously losing. The absolute toxicity in this game is insane. 80% of every big clan I’ve seen has always been in some form of degeneracy. Slurs, racism, sexism, homophobia and way more. The sheer stupidity too is just a joke at this point. Even when we continuously beat their asses, all these toxic clans always come back crawling with their insane amount of toxicity, degeneracy and excuses.

Most cases - they will instead accuse you for being toxic, homophobic, etc. People have called my clan a toxic skilless house for children, called my literal lgbtq-clan homophobic and way more. And each time I have to deal with the childish allegations which just completely mentally destroys me and pushes me off of this game.

While at the same time all these clans go around targeting people and trash talking them, etc., you also gotta be on toe every single moment due to the bad moderation in this game. The moderators will ban you for desync, they will not unban you, they will unban the sex offenders, they will not ban the sex offenders, they’re completely unreasonable with and more. From all of this vetex doesn’t do anything as he doesn’t see anything wrong. I’ve heard that some of the moderators were 13 year olds vetex hired in AA which is just insane (no idea if it’s true or not but atp I wouldn’t be surprised if it was true)

Examples:

Me personally have been banned for 3 days from this game once for ‘’bug abusing’’ while really it’s so insanely biased how the accuser who got me banned me had no proof at all, while we had around 15 videos of them doing the apparent ‘’bug abuse’’, but they didn’t do shit when we showed them concrete proof with 15 clips. A week ago my member got permanently banned for ‘’exploiting’’ for believing he used ‘’aimlock’’ and ‘’armor stacking’’.

Their point for armor stacking: dealing 500 damage on a beam - it was a fucking musket
Their point for aimlock: hitting their muskets + desync - what (they literally say they don’t ban people for desync and explicitly points out when it in fact IS desync, yet here we are)

The appeal ticket has only been responded with ‘’I’m busy’’’ and ‘’Test universe broke’’.

They’ve bent rules in order to ban certain people, they’ve bent rules in order to not ban groups of people. When providing proof to these moderators there’s such a high chance they will always point out something ‘’wrong’’ and call it invalid. Basically they moderate certain individuals or people differently and unfairly.

Being a clan leader after my 2k hours of this game shows you its true sides honestly. My tip for other clan leaders would be:

  • Don’t fall into the hole I fell into (the toxicity, the degenerate people within this community, etc).
  • Some people/groups will take this game too seriously, and I mean it.

The hate a clan gets for the most unbelievably stupid reasons is just unimaginable at this point. Even when they’re proven wrong, the reasoning is stupid, etc., - they continue hating for no apparent reason. Whatever we do we will always be hated on.

Through all of this, I find joy in this game through my amazing clan members and another really special person to me that I met inside my clan. Even with the constant drama and hate - they’re the ones pushing me back to this silly game.

My clan is called Lúdia, we have 411k infamy and 43 members almost 4 months after creation.

We’re PvE and PvP, striving to create a friendly and welcoming environment, fighting toxicity.

This whole topic is probably way out of context, my reason for this whole topic was just to get this all off my heart once and for all. I’m not gonna be providing any ‘’evidence’’ or whatever people would want me to (unless towards a certain person if they respond to this topic), this topic is just me explaining my pov of things.

My responses will probably be scattered but eventually I’ll answer within a day on weekdays if anyone is wondering.

not supporting their actions or anything assuming whatever you said isn’t false but with addition of clans and… very fps like PvP i think it’s only natural the game would come to attract these kinds of people, holy shit

every single time i take a peek in the mythos discord i see slurs and beef and racism and homophobia or whatever the FUCK all the time when it was alive, while I could always stop looking at it it’s so draining

Some of it is relating to your clan, I don’t know what you did wrong but I do not want to associate with it further than this message. People simply cannot give up hate

I can’t imagine how draining it is to manage a clan, and our leaders have already left so that’s absolutely solidifying it

Some part of the clan community is mentally insane, and I am never going to be swayed in my belief.

It baffles me how much anonymity brings out the worst in us.

I was in a major clan for about a year and a few months, and I was in a competitive clan for like a month or so.

It was horrible. I barely touched the tip of the competitive side of ao iceberg yet there was not a single period in the time when this game released that I could’ve been more unhappy than how I felt at that time.

As for the other clan that I’ve been a long member of, I won’t get too deep on the details. I’m no longer in it because of a disagreement.

I can really understand what you meant by people who take this game too seriously. From my own experiences, I’ve learned it’s best to just avoid those people at all cost.

(The next part is just advice for anyone reading this, and it’s kinda off topic)

If anyone here is planning to make a clan, make sure:

  • it’s a small-mid size friend group where everyone feels comfortable with each other
  • None of you are too competitive/serious about the game
  • Make sure it doesn’t get too big. Big clans are not necessarily bad, but the bigger it becomes, the more the first bullet point is going to be forgotten. If you wanna grow a healthy community, generally avoid growing it too much.
  • Do not invite just about anyone. Get used to a person before inviting them to join.

That’s my idea of the ideal clan. I know it’s kinda off topic but I just wanted to share some of the things that I think are fundamental to hold up a healthy clan community. If you’re doubting whether you should stay in a clan, try to make a list like this of what you find important in a clan. If your current clan exceeds some of your boundaries maybe it’s best to step out.

So on the topic again, it really sucks that there’s this huge web of degenerates and toxic people playing this game and it’s exactly this group of people that keeps a lot of beloved community members from touching the game again.

I agree that something should be done but they’re part of every game that has some level of competition in it.

THIS… the clan Iwas in used to be your exact description of an “ideal clan”, but unfortunately it fell prey to some of the things you mentioned (i.e the second point and the third) which lead to both leaders abandoning it

I completely agree with everything you said. To create a healthy and comfortable clan you should follow these steps yeah.

I hope there was someone responsible enough to try fixing this large issue within the community but we’ll see. This part of the community is a large factor for vetex quitting it including dozens of my friends quitting so it should be addressed.

Do you still agree with the proclaimed statements regarding what an ideal clan should be? after looking at your clan, now do you still think you uphold the ideals when it comes to having a healthy and successful clan?

this is a problem with EVERY pvp game.
someone doesn’t like you because you happened to beat them?
pray to god they dont have status in the games community, otherwise they’ll abuse that status to make your time there hell.
on another note, how the FUCK does someone see a 500 damage pshot and think “omg he has to be hacking” when hitting 500 damage on pshot is… incredibly easy.
and you can NEVER trust visuals because of the desync issue… and yet they claimed they were using aimlock?
theres literally very little way to tell if someone is using aimlock unless you have a clip from their point of view (THAT INCLUDES THEIR CURSOR) and study it RELIGIOUSLY.
there are people in this community with cracked as fuck aim, i’d think hitbox extenders WAY before aimlock…

im confused every time i join a server ludia attacks me all the time like and yall witchhunt me and it is mean, and to top it off always say ez and XD when they jump me with 2 people it is just so annoying and rude, ive sorted out my quarrels with mendacium it is only ludia that is consistently doing this

I have mixed feelings about your clan

I’ve been hunted by them before, and as a person that doesn’t PvP, this sucks (excluding that one time I was in a competitive clan—my mistake, I only wanted to join casual clans)

Just leave me and my saint lily flowers in peace while I fish in white summit, you’re only getting 60 infamy extra

At the same time, you’re also allied to a clan that I’m an affiliate of. I can’t exactly blame you since affiliates are kinda the ‘helping clans but don’t expect much in return’ type of people

But taking my islands while I’m just minding my business on the other side of the map? Seriously?

I know this post is hella old but I want to give my take as a fellow clan leader.

My community is solely PVE and that doesn’t stop PVP clans from forcing us into toxic interactions. What you said about clans is very true, most competitive ones are extremely toxic because of the inherent competitive nature of clans. Fighting and killing is encouraged and instead of limiting clan combat to official clan wars and such, vetex has doubled down by increasing hunt infamy yet again.

Clans in almost all games serve as a way to form a unique community, something that goes beyond a friend group. By creating a clan you form a community with a unique identity. Locking this feature behind pvp festers toxic communities and impacts the game as a whole. It is completely unfair to do this because anyone who wants to create a unique community is forced to enter this world of toxic interactions and pvp sided gameplay they likely don’t want to interact with.

With the pvp toggle coming in Full Release, the question of pve clans is becoming more and more important. Should a pve alternative exist? I say it should because we need a non pvp (and non toxic) way to form unique player communities. This will encourage longer pve player engagement and bring less toxic players into the game as they won’t become toxic from the inherent competitive aspects and borderline tribalism that a lot of clans de evolve into.

As for your clan, the only interactions I’ve had were my allies trash talking you because you keep ganking them and having my pve members abandon their grind along with any loot they got because one of your members joined to hunt them. If you engage in hunting you will be forced into negative interactions, especially if the person you’re hunting does not consent to a fight. Can’t tell you much other than to expect toxicity when you’re ganking, it’s an ugly side of the game and it will stay that way.

I doubt anyone would do that, but if anyone from ludia does that ludia has a system for ppl to report bad behavior and that is against our rules

I don’t know why you’re still on that, we sorted it out and I offered to give you what was lost but you aired me when we both had time

To this day I’m still waiting for proof of any of this from the person who makes up these baseless accusation. I’ve called them out for months but I’ve been ignored even when I DM them to solve the drama

I might make another post like this explaining the immaturity coming from that clan and the general baseless hate and accusations about ludia because it’s absurd and needs attention of some sort

Ngl I might need to ask my members about how they attack people for infamy because I hear only bad interactions here on the forums
