The only way an overpowered character actually works is if there still weak as shit compared to everyone else or the main threat like in hunter x hunter where gon and killua are super talented but still barely survive some arcs
true. Hunter x Hunter has some insane villains, like the one guy who survived a nuke dropped right on him (just barely though)

Generally, they suck.
Especially most popular ones. Oh god, the popular ones are usually the worst bro.
I also usually like the artstyle, but holy fuck I cannot stand those voices most of the fucking time. Subtitled or English dub, it always sucks so much ass to force myself to listen to the voiceovers.
The ONLY ONES I can stand to watch are usually parodies (…Honestly, only that Host Club one comes to mind), or pretty old (Stardust Crusaders OVA, Lupin the Third, Cowboy Bebop).
The rare exceptions being, to some extent, the Ace Attorney anime, and the most recent Jojo series (All of the parts of it - especially parts 1 and 2)

MyAnimeList is pretty helpful with finding the top anime that everyone generally enjoys. Also, on the same website, you can search up upcoming anime of the next season that is most anticipated. That’s how I usually cycle through a selection of anime every season

yeah the slime one. Also I understand not liking isekais, the vast majority are trash.
but this one got itself a movie and 3 seasons so that has some meaning.

like any other media it’s perfectly fine as long as you stray from the weird stuff
anime has always had this weird stigma that 80% of it is porn and though that is true you can say the same for a lot of different media types and it shouldn’t be shunned specifically because only 20% of it is fully sfw
honestly i’d say do some serious background research and talk to some other people for their opinions of it before delving into a series if you really wanna avoid some of the weird stuff especially if it’s more cult. Most popular shonen type animes are pretty clean though like One Piece and Dragon Ball so you shouldn’t worry all too much about getting your feet wet if it’s something mainstream
