My problem with animes

watch Kekkai Sensen watch Trigun Stampede those are the best ones i will not take other opinions

would this be a good idea?

a detective hero is overpowered but they cant use their powers all the time because they could end up attacking/wrongfully punishing an innocent person

I have a weird relationship with Anime, I don’t exactly like nor hate it I just find it to be a medium people enjoy but I also don’t exactly have favorites and I’ve watched plenty of Anime. (I don’t mind the “cringy fan-service” I just focus on what I want to see and enjoy)

The decent ones for me are ones with “nostalgic atmosphere” like Steins Gate for example (and Mysterious Girlfriend X, Idk why but I highly appreciate the fact that the characters there never even use a cellphone) I also really like the 90’s version of Berserk though again not my favorite.

Not one genre in my experience with watching anime is bland (mostly) and I personally think they’re all decent enough well on their own.

I’m not gonna lie Tensura is trash too, it’s the same overpowered mc anime but with just a slightly different take (leader of a village).

First time I watched it I was amused but never hyped, when I tried to watch it again I genuinely couldn’t.

But ngl the whole “some are good but most mainstream are bad” kinda applies to like everything, Roblox, new gen kids shows, movies, etc.

Here’s to hoping Berserk gets a non-rushed and deserving anime someday

Big anime watcher. Heres my top animes for if you need some suggestions (hopefully you havent seen these)

  • one piece (i know its long but i fucking love this)
  • i reincarnated as a slime (one of the actually good isekais)
  • dbz (only started watching kai (first dbz for me) with @Aduxite a few days ago its good)
  • ive been killing slimes for 300 years and maxed my level (also a good isekai. only one season doe)

I like most isekais doe so my suggestions may not be for you

erased was fucking amazing holy shit I can’t believe other people watched it

I watched this but it like many other isekais overuses the trope of “dragon girl servant” which pisses me off.

This is why you can’t trust any isekai or RPG-titled anime.
always has something awful.

Such a W anime in literally every way (we don’t speak of the ending)

My problem with Isekai fanservice is this: they assume we want to watch the human equivalent of white bread being fawned over by bounce houses. They think we derive genuine satisfaction from watching said white bread lead said bounce houses around, all while their already below-average intellect range drives into the dirt more than a flipping drill.

No, the fanservice I wanna see is where a genuinely good and intelligent guy manages to score a meaningful relationship with an Amazonian lady. Who respects him for his adaptability in learning everything he needs to know in the new world… like the local language, because why the hell would anyone there know modern day English / Japanese. All the while he makes genuine attempts to return home, thus creating conflict for him and the others.

/j … probably. Maybe. Kinda.

Anime can genuinely be fantastic but I hate when there’s bad fanservice.
Here and there it can be ok or even funny but usually it’s overdone and just makes the viewer question what the hell they are watching.

If y’all want some good anime recommendations here’s some:

One piece - I KNOW ITS LONG but trust me it’s one of the best animes no the best shows of all time. And if you end up liking it you have so many episodes to watch too.
Please try one piece out if you get a chance it’s such a phenomenal show.

Demon slayer - Amazing animation and characters, honestly probably one of the best animes to start with it your new to anime

Attack on titan - A dark but amazing show with deep characters and lore

Komi can’t communicate - Great romance with hilarious characters and writing

The dangers in my heart - A very underrated romance.

those are chinese gacha games tho

jk, i get the flow bc they sre stupid annoying

as far as my opinion on anime goes, much like k-pop i enjoy it privately and without advertisement that i do so and likewise do not keep up with the scene much at all. the medium has severely stagnated and it feels like the greats are all dead along with any of the original nuance and heart that first attracted me to it

the ones i still enjoy are (in no order)

  • Yowamushi Pedal

fun cycling anime that doesn’t feel as same-y as most sports anime

  • Parasyte : The Maxim

Brutal anime that touches on subjects like what defines the human experience and how “humanity” can be lost, found, or salvaged

  • Attack on Titan

Another brutal anime with tons of gore but is overall stunning in visuals and animation (if you can ignore the many still frames of just mouths opening and closing). I enjoy how it discusses the idea of shouldering the sins of a nation’s ethnicity, especially as someone who is learning about things like Unit 731 as a person of Chinese heritage (and btw, some/many Japanese and Korean people still are pretty racist towards Chinese people if you didn’t know)

  • Death Note

I don’t feel like I have to say much other than it being a fun game of cat and mouse that does a great job in taking you through the process

  • Terra Formars

I like the concept and the gore, but beyond season 1 it’s not worth watching

  • Tokyo Ghoul

I honestly didn’t finish season 2, but the first arc is a bloody masterpiece in visuals and storytelling that makes you empathetic (or at least understanding) of nearly all the characters they want you to be acquaintanted with. After season 1 I would just read the manga bc the departure of the Aogiri Tree arc is a snooze fest and logistically makes no sense for Kaneki

  • Soul Eater

Fun anime if not really aimed for child-like audiences, the premise is interesting but I didn’t get very far on the second watch six years after the first

  • Kill La Kill

probably in the same category as Soul Eater, but way more boobs (this is mostly done in satire tho)

We love parodies, especially good parodies that are executed quite well.
