My theories on the protaganists and other charzacther origins

This is theories and thought i have gathered based on Greek mythology
First off id like to sum up what we do know:
The Protagonist Morden and Tucker were experimented on by the order of Aesir
The Protagonist immediately has the Eagles Patrimony at the beginning
The Protagonist is in lore a savant who possesses lightning magic
The Protagonist acquired his first awakening from Poseidon

1st Theory: Origins of Eagles Patrimony
The eagles patrimony is a spirit weapon that was blessed by Zeus

Reason 1
If you imbue the spirit weapon onto something it has lightning based synergies

Reason 2
The signature rites of it when translated to english from Greek:
Astropos=Lightning bolt
Astrapikis=Lightning

Reason 3
Zeus has been associated with eagles in Greek mythology

Zeus and eagle legends:
In one legend Zeus had a childhood friend named Aetos while he was hiding in Crete from his father. After Zeus becomes king Aetos is turned into an eagle by Hera out of fear that Zeus was in love with Aetos. Zeus then proceeded to make his symbol.
Also check the Wikipedia for other info i was to lazy to read or mention: Eagle of Zeus - Wikipedia .

Conclusion:
Spirit weapons need to be blessed by a god and with all these signs the Eagles Patrimony definitely came from Zeus

Random Theory I just had:
Seeing as spirit weapons have something to do with spirits it might be probable that Aetos spirit resides in the Eagles patrimony.

2nd Theory: Origins of the Protagonist
Not much is known about the Protagonist but after some “minor research” I did I have some thoughts and theories with all the information i have I have reason to believe the Protagonist possesses some relation to the Greek hero Odysseus

Reason 1
The game is called Arcane Odyssey

Reason 2
“Odysseus is renowned for his intellectual brilliance, guile, and versatility (polytropos ), and he is thus known by the [epithet] Odysseus the Cunning” From: Odysseus - Wikipedia
This description best describes a Savant which is confirmed to be the stat build of the protagonist of Arcane Odyssey

Reason 3
The player has the Eagles Patrimony and the definition of a Patrimony is: “A property inherited from ones father or male ancestor or valued things passed down from previous generations; heritage.” Which would most likely mean the Protagonist got the Eagles Patrimony from his ancestor and in Greek myth Odysseus is descended from Hermes and Hermes is descended from Zeus making Odysseus a descendant of Zeus which could mean the Patrimony was passed down from Zeus to Hermes to Odysseus

Reason 4
The Protagonist has lightning magic which could be seen as something to do with Zeus

Conclusion:
With all thing considered it seems highly implied the Protagonist possesses some relation to Odysseus the Protagonist could be

  1. A descendant of Odysseus
  2. A reincarnation of Odysseus
  3. Is Odysseus

3rd Theory: The order of Aesir experiments
The order of Aesir experimented on the Protagonist, Morden and Tucker
considering the Protagonist is special Morden and Tucker must have also been special and it would make sense to have special kinds of people to experiment on to further magic which is the goal of the order of Aesir.

4th theory: Morden and Tucker
Not much is know about Morden and tucker except a few things
Morden has the death curse … that is it, nothing much
And Tucker is dead, also nothing much

But considering what makes the Protagonist special because he might be related to Odysseus it could imply that Morden and Tucker were related to important Greek gods, heroes and figures in some way.

Since Morden is the user of the Death curse id place a bet that Morden is related to Thanatos the personification of death and he has absolute control over death and the dead, as well as the ability to kill someone with a touch. So that is my reasoning

Tucker is a little bit difficult i have two theories on him my first one is he might be related to Poseidon in some way cause Poseidon was quite helpful to us in awakening maybe that because the Protagonist was friends with Tucker and if Poseidon and Tucker had some relation is what motivated Poseidon to help us awakening (But in the end this is quite a stretch) I have also thought of that Tucker is related to the Greek got of life Phanes the reasoning behind this it would be an opposite towards Morden someone who might be related to Thanatos and is still alive while Tucker possessed relation to Phanes and died *which is also a stretch)

then they would lose everything just to get back to their home after 20 years of not seeing it (and 10 years trying to get back)

spirit energy, but not spirits themselves

i don’t think there’s enough information for it to be highly implied, the only thing there is the game’s name, which could just be about the adventure and journey we’re going on, and that we’re one of the dozens of zeus’s descendents

that fair this is all just theory anyways its could be not true anyways im most like wrong

It would be strange for us to have so many obvious connections to Zeus yet be a legacy of Hermes, so Vetex might just change it and make us a direct descendent of Zeus.

It think it would make more sense for Morden to be a legacy of Hades so the mc is related to Zeus, then Tucker for Posiedon, and then Morden for Hades.
Side note: “Morden” is German for “murder”.

I would find it funny if Morden was actually from whatever is left of Germany, that way his parents literally just called their newborn son “Murder”

Its such ironic naming too, cause Morden seems like a pacifist from the start (note, he also never seems to have genuine intent to kill before having the Curse, that one time with the Ravennan Guard, he may be bluffing as he’s good with cover-ups)

Yeah I agree. Also that time with the guard he didn’t even threaten to kill them, and I believe that the MC would be the one to actually do the more violent part of the interrogation anyway if he wasn’t bluffing, since that’s what happened in the nimbus sea.

Thanatos is the personification of death like the death curse while Hades is the ruler of the underworld and decides who can leave and enter which can correlate to the Lazarus curse a curse Durza had. But I think there is a slight chance it’s Hades

His mind is spoiled by the death curse. Right after waking up from sleep he was cold and rude as hell, but in Nimbus sea he already was scared to use his powers, which is extremely weird.

Maybe thats how Morden actually is. I remember seeing a screenshot from Tech that Morden is actually cold to people he doesnt know well (and it shows with some interactions with Iris). Or it is affecting him, but only verryyyy slightly and Morden still has self-control. Curses dont have to entirely change your character right away, just giving small nudges here and there.

Or its both of the above.

I still find it funny, Neviro and Morden being two introverted dudes who would seem like they would get along, but would instantly roast each other behind their backs at the first chance they get :joy: (Neviro asks if Morden was dead while sleeping, Morden immediately calls Neviro weak after he’s gone lmao)

Have any ideas why he is afraid of his curse? Its not like he simply scared to kill people, its more like about the curse itself.

He doesnt like the feeling of its “power” ig. Maybe because it does feel tempting? It is a powerful Curse after all. And it may also have more to do with the natural fear of death. It is a fear of many people would have…

Honestly, for some reason I feel like Morden should have been the one Poseidon would talk to, but appearence of Death curse ruinned everything. Just my opinion.

On the other hand, he seems to be less willed in his actions compared to the Protagonist.

freedrock had the lazarus curse

From their journals it is also shown that they are both a bit scared of each other

Speaking of journals however,

Neviro’s journal says that Morden is quite polite

Poseidon seeked to talk to the “Strongest Willed of All Legacies”, which is MC.

Morden himself isnt as self-assured or has the same mental fortitude, and theres some telling hints. Morden after going to the Death Curse, immediately starts having doubts in him mind on his capability ot taking the Curse

MC on the other hand, is a lot more confident in their abilities, the only time they didnt was against Shura based off the quest desc because they simply didnt know their capabilities due to their amnesia.

Another thing is that Morden states in his journal that MC endured far more experiments than Morden did and survived. Which tells me of their mental foritude.

Also, Poseidon was looking for a person with a strong sense of justice. While Morden has his morals too, he’s less inclined to act rather than MC. He has his own doubts about himself, and more likely to hesitate. He’s a good person and still mentally tough, but not exactly the strongest willed of ALL legacies like MC.

Oh yeah thats right my bad i mixed up Lazarus curse which belonged to Freedrock and the death revival magic which Durza possessed thanks for correcting me

Ngl that spirit weapon is from Tucker. Trust me it makes sense

Yeah I also had a thought about that but I was too lazy to mention it but it makes sense cause Morden gives you a Dagger so the Patrimony may have been given by Tucker before his death
