We have a lot of different names and surnames when creating a character. But still, that isn’t enough.
As far as I remember, we CAN have “Aurelius” surname which can be found in Ravenna. We can have “Snow” which is Frostmill, and so on. But there’s 1-3 surnames which aren’t there. The surname I always wanted to have on a character but can’t, because it’s not in the list - “Nebula”, which can be encountered only on Cirrus Island currently. Why? Why isn’t it there? I want Nebula surname!!
oh brother there are a LOT of surnames you cant have.

Of course, there are more than thousand or ten thousand of surnames in real life, but i’m talking about Nebula because we can encounter it in-game but still cant use it for some reason
Edit: We don’t even have “Potter” as a surname. If we had, some boy could defeat an order’s high lord, idk.
im talking about ingame names also potter is an english surname and arcane odyssey is greek based so theres no english last names
But there are a number of English surnames available like Smith, Taylor, Jones, Williams, and Johnson, just to name some. Plus a quick Google search shows the (ancient) Greeks didn’t use surnames as we know and use them in-game so historic accuracy is already out the window, might as well put in a boatload more last names.

We need more names in general tbh. Mind you it’s super funny trying to approximate my OCs’ names in this game (Lenny Hertz instead of Lennard Hersch, Agnaldo Ardis instead of Agnostos Aris, Sue Finley instead of Summer O’Finnegan, etc.), but I still wish they just added more stuff. I can’t imagine it’d be that hard to add a few hundred more names, and surely the issue isn’t lore consistency since the names that are in the game seem to be randomly picked from different real-world cultures and made-up nonsense

I’m still not over the time I wanted to make a file themed around Rear Admiral Adkins, only to find that Adkins wasn’t an available surname.
Honestly, names in AO make no sense at all. You have last names such as “Yharim” and “Richelieu”, alongside first names such as “Zion” and “Signe” (there’s TWO OF THAT ONE). However, there’s not “Miles” or “Lace”. Much more reasonable names, yet they’re not present?
NPCs also possess names unusable by players - why?
we should be able to type in our character’s names at that point (someone boutta name their character skibidi sigma)
Admittedly that’d be cool, but it would also probably lead to a lot of Roblox censorship shenanigans. With these pre-made names they can at least guarantee none of them will get censored for no good reason (like what happened to my entire clan 
)

what if we can choose between AO’s name system (guarantee to not filter) vs typing system (more freedom but risk of filtering)
