Necessary Drawback changes

I don’t know how drawback works. I got my first piece today. My paladin file does 202 damage with a shadow blast taking 50 dmg from drawback. Max hp is 1698.

Even if we forget Warden can use nothing other than spirit weapons, I can’t think of any attack of any other build that can make Drawback reach this cap

Spirit weapons are separate from this, drawback would have it’s own cap
A full Vatrachos set reaches this cap pretty easily, and as you saw the cap increases as Vit is invested into

Yeah it should reward good aiming and remove spamming skills as an option

semi-tank here ( mostly because i like throwing hands with sharks )

before i started writing this i should tell you i barely read any of the 140-ish above because, well, Diva already said why

anyway

drawback only deals dmg if it hit is dumb,
gameplay-wise, it means that glass cannons can just spam their attack without worrying about their health,
lore-wise, even if it doesnt draw your life force out, it increase your power so much that your body is unable to bear it, thus taking damage. think of deku from MHA ig
( or dont if you dont know who that is )

i do, however, agree that drawback should either
a. deals dmg based on the damage of your attack (regardless of whether it hit or not)
b. deals dmg based on max instead of current hp ( less of balancing and more because itd be really fun seeing some glass cannon spamming themselves to death fighting someone with 300+ agility )

Problem: we have literally no idea about how spirit weapons work other than it take our HP to deal dmg. Just because they are similar doesnt mean they are the same thing

tell a sand user and a snow user their magic is the same and they’ll gore your eyeballs out

there’re certainly problems with them yes ( i dont know how javelin speed works but if a metal mage can throw a javelin with the same speed as i do, gods help us ), but changing drawback to how you said isn’t gonna be that much of a nerf to them since you can reach up to 200 power now with the new scrolls and items, which means they can just spam their attack til it eventually hit

in a way, you can say its an indirect buffs… to other builds that is not tank, specifically agility since dodging someone while they spam themself to near-death is actually doable now ( again, i still agree that it should be based on your max hp instead of current )

glass cannons ( and meta builds in general tbh ) have a drawback (not that drawback) and its called having no fun in anything else but fighting (…then again, that is what bring them joy so uhhhhh )

they will never know the joy of being able to fling people from ravenna to sailor’s lodge, the happiness that swimming across the ocean gives you nor glee when you can breeze through the entirety of ravenna in less than a minute

(okay fine that last part was a joke… kinda)

does “exerting so much power that your body gets hurt” sound like something that should be a buff to tanks and a debuff to glass cannons to you ?

the reason for vitality’s damage reduction is because you literally take 10% less dmg (20% by the time of 2nd awakening), your dodge also reduces the damage you take even further.

you deal less damage, but since your HP is already greater than other people you can just, you know, invest in power instead of drawback and still a decent amount of damage

of course, as of now it still doesnt feel good enough to use… thats because an essential part of their abilities is missing

even then, i still find it pretty decent ( 2nd file knight ), not utterly broken nor bad. this was before the dark sea update ofc, so things might have changed

Well, agree with that

impact fist and drawback = deku build :fire:
Gotta get the midorya voiceline as well and VC in AO

Of course it is. Glass cannons are too fragile, so they shouldn’t survive long while being affected by Drawback, their immense power should destroy their weak bodies, while tanks with less power and way more hp are very durable against Drawback. That is why is should not be hp-based, but damage dealt-based
