Necessary Drawback changes

The new Dark sea update brought us three new stats. One of them, the drawback, is way too questionable. Rn, it takes a percentage of your max hp each time you use an attack. I see no logic in this, this should be changed.

The description of Drawback says that it takes life power of user. Then why the most of players who main high Drawback builds are glass cannons? I know the answer: Drawback ruins tank builds entirely. I am sure Drawback should be more used by those who have a lot of life power, or hp.

I suggest Drawback damage being based on damage you deal, not on max hp, so your different attacks will cost you different amount of hp. Also, this fine should be taken in the moment when your attack lands its hit, not when used, so Drawback won’t work with missed shots.

Reasons: Drawback is basically a dollar-store spirit weapons, so it should be best used with tank builds. While taking a ton of your hp and by so counteracting natural regen (the main advantage of tanks), Drawback just destroys the existense of the most unpopular builds, when glass cannons, the most popular ones, become unstoppable. If Drawback would be reverted as I said, it will become a buff for tanks and debuff for glass cannons, balancing them.

I agree but drawback should still take health when you miss, but yeha, lower damaing fast builds should take less self dmg to make them viable

Answer then, where my health goes on miss?

you sacrifice your health to summon the attack, logically too, the more powerful the attack, the bigger the health loss

That is what I said. And can’t you spot this difference between Drawback and Spirit weapons?

Drawback is a cost for greater power, it chains your life energy into attacks, so if you don’t use its power (miss hit), it won’t take the debt.

Spirit weapons are (not) existing by consuming the life power of the user, they require it to do any actions, its like fuel for them. Therefore, Spirit weapons should take your hp in the moment when attack is used, and Drawback - when attack lands

So the counterargument is that in an actual fight I do huge damage but I’m not meant to be a tanky build at all lol

You take a good amount of damage if you have, lets say, 2 drawback. 1 drawback is kinda just meh. If you were able to just have ALL that defense to yourself for free that’d be pretty lame. We also don’t even entirely know how Spirit Weapons will work yet to my knowledge, sooo. You’re not supposed to be tanky with a drawback build. You just get extra hp to cope with the fact that you lose hp each attack/aura application.

Drawback could be a great stat if it gives bonus damage based on the amount of health you lost, basically high risk high return (just try not to miss your attacks alot, you only have so much health to sacrifice)

Drawback does not mean being a cost for great power. Its a cost for more stats, its just only Vatrachos set with it by default, and Painite gems are giving it without any Power stat. If you are not tanky build, where are you getting this great damage if you don’t offer almost no hp?

I want you to understand, Drawback is not like Spirit stuff. Drawback is a fine, a debt for your might. You are not fueling it with life power to get its effects, it is a curse punishing you for what you have done (and thats why it should work after the attack lands).

using them. not landing them.

using a skill still requires you to summon that power, even if it doesn’t hit.
it just means you can’t miss

I’m pretty sure Painite exists just to fuel some builds in terms of tankiness as a whole but considering that the first drawback set LITERALLY gives much more power than usual as an added bonus to the amount of defense it gives…

…I’m pretty sure it means great power at a cost lol

(Also wildecat lol)

And again, you are NOT summoning the power, it is granted to you by default after wearing that armor. Drawback is a curse. Also, the description you have shown was written based on how drawback works right now, and after changes I have suggested, it will also change. Drawback’s mechanics weren’t based on this description, this description was based on Drawback’s mechanics

source : vetex’s twitter

this is how it’s intended to be.

Yes, that is a fact, and the cost is a curse placed on you after wearing these what cause you to get fined with your hp each time you deal damage.

not deal damage, just use skills
:frhigh:

No matter of how official was the source, vetex wrote this based on how he made the mechanic, he didn’t do mechanics based on this

Thats how it wrongly works right now, thats how spirit weapins should work, and thats what should be changed

we don’t know anything of the internal notes, so we can’t say for sure.

You should become a lawyer with the amount of reach arounds you’re doing to stay right
