New game idea

okay so heres the premise:

the game takes place on many different maps, with tiles, there are lots of enemies that gradually get harder the more you progress (a roguelike basically), except:

enemies only move and attack when you move and attack, kinda like a game of really action packed chess.

i haven’t come up with a name yet so please help me there.

there are also several classes you can pick for when you play, making each run extremely different:

the classes

runner: the starter class of the game, fast, mediocre hp, nothing too special
starts the game with: serbu super shorty

sharpshooter: lower HP than normal, but however you do get infinite range and high damage
starts the game with: basic hunting rifle

synthesizer: average HP, bad starting weapon, but you can create sentries with many abilities
starts the game with: basic sentry, pistol

slasher: utilize fast melee attacks that require close combat yet deal devastating damage
starts the game with: dual daggers

summoner: average HP class with the ability to summon hordes of allies that move
starts the game with: ritual blade, necrobloxicon

singularity: copy the ability of the first enemy you killed, can copy more abilities later on.
starts the game with: mutated limbs

demolitionist: KA-BOOOOOOOM
starts the game with: hand grenades

gambler: abuse RNG to the maximum to get random weapons and skills from every existing class in game.
starts the game with: random

I definitely have not thought of every class, these are just a few, please leave suggestions for class ideas if you have any, and feedback on the game idea in general.

EDIT the game does not work the same as previously stated and instead works more similar to HOURS and black magic 2, as well as being played from a more birds eye view of each map

Like superhot? Also I wouldn’t recommend spamming out games like this because in all likelihood you’ll only get to develop like 3.

archer: similar to the sharpshooter, your arrows can chain hit enemies and you have less HP but more damage

tank: smash enemies with a shield as well as having high defenses

medic: use many healing items to keep you and your allies alive
starts the game with: med-kit, food ration, syringe gun

mage: use the power of fire at your will

cryo-synthient: use the pwoer of ice to freeze your enemies and create barriers
starts the game with: freezing DNA

brawler: similar to slasher, except you have more HP and your attacks can combo, however you need to be even closer to hit
starts the game with: fists lol

terradriller: go underground to ambush your enemies and create small earthquakes
starts the game with: ROVMK1 drill

patient: forever dreaming in a void of endless time…
starts the game with: telekinesis

funny event classes

Gifter: give presents to you allies and enemies and see what they get!
starts the game with: present boxes

harvester: use a scythe to cut away hordes, land critical hits as well, and go on killstreaks to boost power
starts the game with: scythe, pumpkin pie

jimbob bingus bongus: stupid class
starts the game with: ur mom

eh I think taking inspiration is always fine as you change it enough

cool classes that are harder to get

King: a unique class focused on eating in order to gain physical strength
starts the game with: ham, food ration, pumpkin pie, small sword

ranger: wield powerful laser like attacks at mid range and gain extra movepoints (you can move and enemies wont move with you)
starts the game with: plasma rifle

machine: a powerful class that cannot naturally regenerate health, immune to poison and electric attacks but suffer greatly from fire based attacks
starts the game with: razor claw module

huntsman: wield various traps and ground hazards to slow enemies or stop them in their tracks
starts the game with: bear traps, barbed wire, proximity mine, double barrel shotgun

BTW: i decided to rework the game where you can run around freely and its not like chess, more like black magic 2 in playstyle
