I think the npc just didn’t load properly so the game “didn’t know” what it was, and all it had to pop up as information was it’s HP.
I see that happen on siren islands, they’re just grey instead of the sirens and won’t do anything
Sirens also dont have boss hp in my situations because their level is not high enough
Seems the new boss bar has some unexpected consequences.
Similarly to deckhands that spawn on islands, ghosts are actually spawned in as combatable NPCs. It takes a few seconds for them to fully load in and during that time you can hit them and damage them.
That right there is clearly the unloaded ghost, as ghosts look like default dummies when they just spawn in. In your video though, it seems it’s a fully bugged one, seeing as the ghosts don’t spawn midair, and yours neither fought back or loaded in like they usually do when the bug gets triggered.
The boss bar is a byproduct of the ghosts being combat NPCs, as they have full armor sets and are presumably high level, since it had so much hp compared to a regular NPC. Killing the ghost doesn’t do anything, just makes them unable to be talked to like killing an island deckhand does.
