not sure if this counts but I LOVEEEE status effect builds. i’m a glass/poison mage and most of the time i don’t directly engage in the fight, i just inflict the status effects and watch their health go down

What would you feel like if Arcane Reborn-esque infection status effect was added to AO?

Here’s some I have either made or planned:

  • Acid Conjurer, this was my first build, the idea was I could make acid rain and make puddles everywhere. Didn’t work, so I benched it, but with Full Release changes, this is back on the menu.
  • Sand/Lightning Mage: I thought this would turn my sand piles into glass shards for people to step on, but it turned out to just turn my sand piles into lovely glass sculptures of sand piles. Switched the lightning out for wind because I thought warm wind would work thematically, it is my main.
  • Poison/Thermo Warlock: I wanted to see if status effects stacked, so I threw poison burst potions at someone and they did indeed stack. However, that seems to be an exception to the rule, because the status effects from Poison Thermo Fist do not stack. At least it looks cool.
  • Earth Vanishing Fist: What’s better than being invisible? Being invisible and hiding behind rocks. High damage will synergize well with the critical effect of Vanishing Fist, and being invisible will make it easier to land those slow attacks.
  • Vanishing Juggernaut: Summon a spirit clone and then vanish.
  • Snow/Poison Mage: Affliction jewels to boost poison duration and snow blindness, tag with one poison spell and then disorient with snow. I also have never lost a snowball fight on this guy.

I have an alchemist build, full potency and as much regen as I could cram

I quite literally won’t be affected by the stat changes in full release.

I’m thinking of the combat stealth kind of something something build using vanishing stlye + toxic/ash magic since vanishing should make the nametag disappear

or maybe, a really really dark outfit with using omen slayer title might work in the dark

The build I have is more stupid than it is gimmicky but atleast it looks good

Thermo Juggernaut
Glass cannon levels of defense high power rest is dumped into healing, kill the enemy before you kill yourself with sheer drawback of spirit and attack speed of thermo.
There is a reason nobody sane is doing this before the drawback is removed, it is a pain to use (literally)
