Niche/gimmick builds

Does anybody on the forums have any niche builds/builds that revolve around a gimmick or are gimmicky.

I really dont like following the meta and I think a build like this that is fun to play with a unique fighting style would be cool.

The only one I could think of would be a glass cannon with high intensity that spams powerful moves but I don’t think that’s a good example.

Not one I made, and will remain for full release, but:

Triple plunderers

All plunderers have rapid fire

Some intensity

And attack speed

Maybe ardent for faster reload?

My opponent watching as I keep firing my guns without reloading once:

Max regen
You try to block and parry as much as possible
Namomachines, son

isnt the cooldown for an individual skill shared across every weapon

Wasn’t the whole point of letting us equip multiple of the same weapon to let us sacrifice some versatility in exchange for the ability to use a move multiple times?

no it was the ability to use even more moves

cs

try shadow + light mage build

wind knockback the ol’ reliable

basically of my files focus all in on a specific playstyle or niche, but right now they’re all based on full release stuff and/or parties (i play with friends) for their potential

here’s a few:

Illusionist

a light mage with a heavy focus on disorienting enemies by distracting them and blinding them, allowing you and party members to safely and more easily land attacks as they will be less focused on you

  • maximum status effect durations
  • blinding blood disease
  • spells include conjure elemental to have more distractions, but array, barrage, annihilation, and pulsar could also be good for easy blinding
  • stats can honestly be anything, but haste (intensity’s new name) would prob be good for conjure elemental uptime
  • not sure what to make 2nd magic atm, probably shadow since drained can be diabolical with blinds (even though it reduces your damage)

Supporter

buffs and minimal healing, would prob have been decent if healing gels (and similar) weren’t gutted to not scale with user’s max hp. Spam enchantment and focus on hitting party members with spells to either give them very minor buffs or heal them for like 1% of their hp.

  • maximum potency boost (if enchantment’s buff is affected by it, otherwise idk)
  • enchantment spell is the only requirement for this build
  • healing/mystery blood disease (mystery will give minor buffs to party members)
  • maximum haste for maximum enchantment buff uptime
  • Can use metal magic for high max hp buff for enchantment, but just use anything

Nihility

a water/earth mage that focuses on inflicting crippling debuffs onto the enemy (could use weapons and greases but… i personally dont like weapons). this makes them far more vulnerable to allow you and party members to finish them off much easier

  • maximum status effect durations and all in on armor piercing
  • slowness/frost blood disease
  • inflicts soaked, bruised, armor pierced, and slowness/freezing and frozen
    • increases damage taken from certain magics, impairs movement drastically, and basically nullifies most stats
  • water can be replaced with other magics, i just picked it since the debuff increases damage taken by most of my friends’ moves
  • can deal decent damage too due to high armor piercing

you got any cool savant ideas for full release? im switching from warlord to savant and need some ideas

These are some fun ones I’ve run in the past

Also Magma + Ash mage with destruction musgravites is pretty effective (MOOCHEZZ PLEASE FIX CLOUDS THEY STILL ONLY HIT ONCE BEFORE BECOMING HARMLESS)

play juggernaut with 300 intensity and just spam shockwave in peoples faces. make sure to have good power too and play unimbued

ive gotten 6 kills from wind mage knockback, if you use a pillar explosive for launching them up theres a chance they phase through the map and drown

This is exactly the sort of stuff I was looking for omg

negative synergies dont apply to yourself, so if you apply blinded it’ll only decrease other peoples shadow damage, but not your own

ive heard that you can only get negative status blood diseases so nothing positive like healing or water breathing and nothing neutral like gale

last ones funny though

metal conjurer

Given how you liked @Awesome_Wafflez (genuinely, i don’t think anybody really knew what you wanted, That comment should be marked as an answer, or used as a bookmark, it’d help the post)

As for my Gimick Builds (God i hope to see at least one of these, It’d be so funny).

The Hurricane

A Wind Paladin whose whole goal is to stunlock people. Pray we get At Least level 185… You can Easily cycle through abilities to keep people in the stun they get whilst knocked. This allows you to always deal damage in the most annoying way possible.

  • 50/50 Knockback and Duration; your goal isn’t to fling people off the map, but to spin them around stupidly. The knockback makes these effects stronger, and that status duration helps your slowness items.
  • Build Size and Casting Speed (to spam easier, and hit more frequently).
  • Gale Blood disease. If you run gels, use slowness or blinding (so they can’t fight back).
  • Nebula, Array, Pulsar, Javelin, Meteor, Quake, Barrage. Thats your main spell priorities. All of these either hit multiple times or automatically.
  • Nichtetheis, Spirit Rain, Spirit Hound, Aithoro (if we get level 200); All Imbued with Wind Magic. Same, for the exact same reasons as the the previous moves, with the Addition of Nichtetheis for the slowness (just incase they try running).
  • Whenever FR comes out, enchant whichever spirit weapon comes with the most size with a Dense scroll and imbue it t your wind magic.
Basically Agility

So… You know how Agility is gone? This build is a Conjurer, Lightning works best for its theme. Your gimick is never having to stop, you have 0 cooldowns, 0 windup, and every mobility move needed.

  • Speed Aura and Leap. Thats all you need your magic for; anything else is a bonus)
  • Slowness Blood-Disease + Lighting Reflex. Gotta be faster than the enemy by all means.
  • Every Weapon MUST be ardent; you’ll also want at least 1 blunt Weapon for the Bruising Slowness (if we get level 185+ go for the Vindicator).
  • Use Skills that Move the Player; its also quite Important to carry a sword (preferably Sunken) so you can utilize Sword Step.
  • Min-Max Dexterity(Casting-Speed) and Haste(Intensity). Any free space can go towards Range.
Equal Rights

A perfect 4-way Savant. Your Character has some large noble obsession with being fair. You build in a way that lets you easily “Switch” to fight your opponents on “even” terms; every battle you enter, you only use tools that they could use, and ensure your stats can be built like theirs.

  • All in on Pierce, Power, and Defense. No other stat matters.
  • No Hybrid exclusive gear- that wouldn’t be very fair would it?
    • You Fight a Warrior? only use Weapons. A Paladin? guess its Magic and Spirit. So on, so forth. This also applies to imbuements. Gotta show that you’re the better build despite lower tiers.
    • Of course, if you end up fighing multiple people, then go all ham.
  • Pierce ensures that your opponent doesn’t have any pesky annoying stats that might deviate from the sane and reasonable power/defense.
  • No BD because you’re noble, and poisoning oneself just to get an advantage is honestly insane.
  • There are these potions tht reduce the effectiveness of some debuffs, get a slowness resistance version; you want this fight to be even, so you need to match their speed.

third one is genius idea
