You’ve done it.
Congratulations, you made it to the end of the tunnel. You’ve washed the last dish, you’ve swashed your last buckle.
How does it feel? Do you feel accomplished? Do you think you’ve achieved everything you wanted to achieve up until this moment?
Don’t you regret anything? Don’t you think you could have taken one chance to stop and smell the roses?
Who cares if you don’t smell anything! That’s not the point… you weren’t supposed to make it this far. Why didn’t you do the little things, why didn’t you listen to the last 30 seconds of that song, why didn’t you give that homeless man the 25 cents in your pocket?
Were you afraid? Afraid of the unknown, afraid that what you do might ruin someone?
Do you think you’re special? Do you think you’re just another leaf on the tree?
Why didn’t you take a break? Why didn’t you push yourself to complete on last pushup, to do one last lap, to open the door to your home and take a breath of fresh air?
You were afraid, weren’t you. You were afraid they would say “He’s nothing special.” and look away, didn’t you? You tell yourself “There’s always tomorrow.”, but what if there isn’t? What if this is the last day? Now look at you. Sprawled out on the ground. 3 holes on your body. Leaking blood faster than a waterfall.
You aren’t special. Yes… you were never special, were you? So why the hell are you realizing just now that that’s okay, that your “unspecialty” is your great strength? You looked at others and wished you could do what they can do and told yourself you aren’t special… but do you know what that really means?
Of course… now you realize. Now you remember you forgot to lock the door to your house, that you forgot to take your dog for a walk today, that you forgot to pay your bills.
Did you even forget, or did you know deep down…
That you’re a regular now. There’s no escape. You’ll just die and come back.
You have been trapped. Spend the rest of your days warning others, find fulfillment in teaching.
Even the end, has no end.
