I have been seeing the term “turret mage” a lot here, and I am very confused.
Do they just stand there like a literal btd wizard monkey and spam blasts or is there more nuance to that?
And if so, why are they even called turret mages?

where did you see it lol
I use it to refer to the beam spam play style with insane atk speed stats. That’s just my interpretation tho.
i guess spamming long range spell with all their stats focused on speed
after all pretty much every time turret mage is brought up, beams are mentioned
turret mages are mages that go in the air and airstall by using blast>beam>repeat
due to their low cooldown, they can easily cycle and make their opponent feel like they are fighting against a turret
in my case it feels like having a parryable DoT of 200+ dmg
sometimes they might use a placed shockwave explosion, javelin or pulsar

basically, it’s ultra speed mage, fires off tons of projectiles, usually airstalls, very annoying for most
