One of the worse balance changes i ever saw

Its so over

Pretty sure it still will be lol
Cernyx is also rare, right? The nerf affects all rare items so they’re both getting nerfed in the same way

I tried complaining about it and all the reason they gave me was
“uh jsut because sunkens are rare doesn’t mean its nerf-proof”
“just look at #doc-changes im too lazy to explain why we did this”

Like people devoted entire lives to getting sunkens, and then you just straight up change their stats? I swear balance team gets dumber by the second. Watch them buff Sunken by 100% next update, then nerf it to the ground again for “balancing”.

honestly. IF YOU ASK ME, IN MY OPINION. the balancing document is over complicated. There are some changes that sound very reasonable and actually have an impact.

Dodge reflex nerf
Attack speed nerf
ethereal flash, brutal rush buff
making it so attack speed increased tick rate dmg of sunken staff

but then there’s stuff majority of people were fine with but it got changes anyway that no one asked for.

that synergy nerf is for thermo fist. I understand some strong things can slip under the radar but shit, what the hell is 2.5% going to do? All of this just seems like a desperate attempt to reach an unrealistic perfect equilibrium where everything is on equal footing.

I get the exotic gem nerf because its to a prevent power creep so players don’t have absurd stats too early in the game, but it just seems so far distant in the future. Why not instead nerf it when it actually becomes a problem and put the time and energy into balancing/comparing the things that have problems now.

God forbid we give players an actual sense of progression as they level up and gain rarer gear

who on earth was complaining about sand and snow? and I thought we had finally reached an acceptable point with shadow, why is it getting further nerfs?

Honestly I’ve just stopped trying to understand most of the balance changes made

Balancers are just monkeys on typewriters at this point

That’s like saying “people have devoted thousands of dollars into the stock market, now they’re upset that the company they invested in lost a bit of money”.

Balancing is part of making a game. Especially one with a heavy PVP aspect.

I wouldn’t really consider AO to be a game with a heavy pvp aspect, but you do you

It’s funny considering a lot of builds will essentially be losing moves this update?!?

Yep, several builds may end up losing access to certain rare spells/techniques, because lore

let’s see what we are losing:
-stuns
-javelin on non magic focused warlocks and conjurers
-selino for certain hybrid builds
-selino + axe slash for second fstyles
-javelin on savant
-high stat allocation for single stats on savant (60% to 40% at most)
-momentum after dodge reflexes
this isn’t all of it, but it’s a lot of the more major things that I can think of .

This straight up isn’t even an argument. Balancing being a thing is a given, but that doesn’t mean this instance of it is a good use of it.

Who the hell burnt down the kitchen with these changes?
Do they not know how long it takes to get Sunken? Do they not understand how many resources you have to spend to max out jewelcrafting to max out exotic jewels in the first place?

Stat Inflation, in my opinion, isn’t that bad rn, some Bosses are still threatening, like Kai, Merlot, Calvus etc., even though it’s funny to watch my AOE Warlord throw the biggest tornadoes with striking gale, and i won’t even know how fast my future attack speed light warlock would function, because the substat meta would die off if this gets implemented.

i will say it again, the gear we got looks from nimbus sea or further seas, isnt fair to judge them from a bronze sea level

imagine if there are items from further seas that people from bronze sea or nimbus sea can use and they get nerfed bc they are judged by that view point

Power & Defense are mainly used for builds > Buff other stats to compensate > Now other stats are mainly used for builds > Nerf other stats to solve the issue

What is the problem? They just made it harder to get well-rounded build, that’s all?

(I don’t understand)

The issue is, players with Sunkens want to continue their delusion that their 10 hours spent fishing was actually worth it.

I mean, if everyone are nerfed, then they didn’t lose anything, right?

I am not really good at stat building, so I don’t see as far as you guys.
