imo the armour changes are a bit redundant bc their stat efficiency will stay the same
i agree with the gem changes, fight me
To be fair, youâre going to be able to upgrade them at least another time once the update drops. Not sure if itâll completely save the armorâs substats, but it should at least soften the impact.
Sunken nerfs seem kind ofâŚunwarranted, or at least in my eyes. While they are something that should be able to carry you throughout the entire game, it is substantially rarer than any items youâll likely be able to find. I can get why people donât like the changes.
I donât do jack with exotic jewels, but I should probably kiss my speedster build goodbye.
I donât really dabble in this sort of stuff, I just wanted to give my initial thoughts on it. please spare me from your wrath
true, they are supposed to always be with you as soon as you obtain them, and itâs kinda sad to see them nerfed like that, because my 200+ substat builds, current and future ones, will no longer be 200+ substat ones due to these nerfs, because they usually use Sunken in their setup.
Upgrading it should hopefully slightly negate the impact of the nerf, hopefully.
idk. 5% difference isnât going to be something that alot of people notice in the nerf. but as of right now, its not something that makes people go âomg ur magic is unbalanced, its too fast and needs to be nerfed by 5% that way its fairer for non snow usersâ.
Alot of the document just seems like theyâre trying to fix what is already fine as is.
eh ill take a sunken nerf if its anything to counteract the massive influx of them from luck potions
and i dont really care about the jewels
i just dont get the sunken nerf, straight up why, AP is a thing, and depending on how broken is it can make defense even more useless, and even if the AP is bad, how much will like 30 more hp even help anyone?
the gem nerf sucks, sorry but once nimbus sea is fully released we will find ourself with a exotic gem buff
sunken nerf? i see it as a sidegrade for now
considering defense is getting dogged on itâs pretty much a nerf
Pray vetex vetoes
Also who the FUCK thought nerfing lapis lazuli into decimal substats was a good idea (demical stats )
Donât worry he only adds the highlighted stuff so we just have to deal with an exotic gem nerf
Bro exactly this i just finnaly finished my build just for it to get nerfed so people who grind less can be on par
Iâve heard vetex math rounds down no matter what. Not sure if itâs true
imagine vetex being ur teacher and ur like 0.10 points away from a 10/10 and he rounds ur grade down
They deserved to be dunked on.
I am moderately worried the balance for the next update is pushing a much more bottlenecked style of build.
Defense is going to be FAR less valuable next update. Not only does it no longer buff your natural regen, there is a stat being added that makes you directly deal more damage to people who build high into defense. So glass cannons can just slap on some armor pen and possibly negate the entire purpose of your build!
Power will be more dominant, especially since defense already doesnât feel like a stat that does a lot without high invest as is, and now that you can actively be punished for building high into the stat.
And donât get me started on the gutting of stun builds. Were stun builds really so dominant that they needed to be totally gutted? Maybe Wind Mage was pretty atrocious, but overall the point of stun builds was for comboing and disruption.
Not to mention grabs are losing the ability to trap people in the ground. Kinda wish that stayed, since the whole point of grabs feels like setting up combos. Just a lotta really small touches that feel like they only matter in the highest levels of play while the rest of us are kinda left to pick up the pieces (Like the cone change, which still feels awful to have to play around).
That is pretty much why the current method of balancing is problematic, like cool you dealt with a potentially problematic pvp build that you dealt with in Elysium. Unfortunately several other builds got hit in the crossfire because of said changes.
Wow canât wait for the legendary gems to be a copy and paste of the prenerfed exotic jewels
Actually I kinda like the stuns removal
I fight Ice Sailor/ Ash thermo on a regular basis and at this point I just wish they have a hidden -90% damage or something
Maybe keep the stuns on mage since they arenât as cheap as they are on imbuement builds
Aside from the Defense changes I havenât actually seen anyone explain why these changes are bad. Itâs literally just âbalance team cringe I donât like this lolâ and no actual discussion.
In regards to the Sunken changes literally everyone missed the asterisk
meaning Sunken is going up to 285 chest and 213 for other pieces.
I donât really know whether or not I agree with these changes but calling them âthe worst balance changesâ over this is a little bit silly. Maybe it wouldâve been better to just lower the substats of all dual armors rather than only lowering the substats of some and then shifting the power into the main stats, that seems like itâs going to enforce an extremely rigid Power/Defense meta.
Stat inflation has by far been one of the worst things to happen to this game in terms of balancing (aside from reflexes.) Everyone talks about how v1.13 wouldâve been perfect if only a few things were nerfed and that the swap to the Dark Seas update was disasterous and that Exotic enchants only served to worsen the state of the game. Do we want to keep near-instant attacks moon-sized explosions and mapwide dashes or do we actually want to address them?
Could this be solved by just a raw nerf to the stats themselves? Probably. But this change is more targeted at the sets that the items actually creating the problems.
Dark seas update gave everyone free stats without a level cap change and after these nerfs will still give everyone free stats without a level cap change. Exotic gems will be 1.5x better than regular gems, idek why 2x better was even accepted in the first place.
A lot of people actually. I donât even like the Snow nerfs Iâm pretty much the only one arguing against them, but Shadow is 100% justified and Sand is ok but it was taken too far imo.
Yeah I really donât know how to go about solving this problem without insanely buffing Defense or something (everyone do note that Defense is already going up by 22%).
Yes.
Donât know how to feel about this. On one hand I donât really like this narrative since it only affects two grabs. On the other hand I donât even know if itâs necessary because K.O. is pretty easy to counter when it doesnât bug out and last an extra long amount of time without allowing you to block or escape.
How so?
