I don’t get why he’s so hellbent on making magic incredibly tedious and annoying to change.

Every other class can change their weapon or skills with a few buttons, whereas Mages have to go into far reaches for hours to find a shiny purple cloud to swap their magic (or pay 20 dollars now)

Why? What benefit does this provide for the game? Who does this help?

This is like if I added a system to a game where, in order to change your characters name, you have to scour the whole map to find a nametag that has a 0.01% chance to spawn, but you could also spend 15 dollars to change it immediately.

It’s just objectively bad and unnecessary game design

if I had to guess it’s probably because your first magic is what your mutations will be absed on, say ancient lightning + pheonix is a uber powerful combo, you wouldn’t be able to do because fire doesn’t mutate into ancient lightning but what you could do is get pheonix, hecate to lightning then get ancient lightning

yeah, im assuming its mostly lore reasons and for later game stuff that would be difficult to change every time you got a new magic

1st because vetex didn’t even intend in adding it in the first place

2nd it’s hard to think of something that can change the magic in comparison to just swapping out magics (which doesn’t make sense at all)

Eh i don’t know if many people will buy it tho, normally you need one or two hecates in your playtime (one file), unless you really have bad luck.

this whole situation will be resolved when we get the Hecate Spirit Weapon, and they use their ability to change our magic.

i feel pulled between “it doesnt matter” and “this is shit”. On one hand it doesn’t matter because its not like finding hectate was made worse, just that the only people that can make use of the change are those that can and are willing to afford it

On the other hand. He could’ve made it more common as well, i simply don’t see the harm in doing that. The gamepass is fine but if magics are supposed to be on the same level as fighting styles and weapons, then why is it so much harder to change?

(i realised that warriors whole shitck is versatility and being able to swap weaponry on a whim but i think my point stands with zerker)

this is my guess, maybe vetex didn’t want you switch you first magic so easily since mutations will be based on it
