As of current they are of no danger to us due to the fact that our fights are relatively tame, however as the trend @RickyD showed, it’ll get worse over-time as Vetex experiments with what injuries the player can have.
It’s developing into becoming a feature creep, that may be small, but is still essentially useless and punishes the player for doing the main part of the game; play the story.
Arcane Odyssey actively advertises its experience as being “player-chosen”, or at least very customizable in the ways you can fight, story injuries specifically go against that by punishing the player for playing the game in the way they want, taking away a sizeable segment of their health for ENJOYING themselves.
It’s not even speed running. Just doing the story normally is punished. The story isn’t long, mostly running around till you fight a boss. Allanon though for instance gives a major injury after every fight. What I’m suppose to just not play the story now on this story game?
i guess the point is that it forces u to play the game as the dev wants, like there is the clear way, you can do the story or side-content or pvp, i think he is saying that vetex forces u to do what he wants, so u either suffer through the boss, get artificial downtime or u do whatever vetex wants u to do, which is some forced side-quests
Bro, the only thing that prevents us is supply, not armor break…On god he doesnt play his own game, that. Supplies are so ass to refil, that i want him to just add an axe so that players can manualy chop down trees.
Think about it.
Water poisoning can be evaded by soap, cover and brig baths.
Player HP can be regened
Food can be found from chests
The only non-renewable or hard to get many of resource are supplies for ship HP
and that’s not what I’m talking about.
I’m saying that vetex just assumes that people will be fine with whatever he does because it “isn’t that bad” even though its been proven time and time and time and time and time again that it doesn’t work like that.
like crimson’s been saying, he doesn’t want to hear opinions on upcoming features until they’re actually released (even from testers who have access to the features directly??????) even though it is abundantly obvious to everyone but him that it is not going to be received well.
For big Phoenix man and ivor I’d argue other wise. I can’t see vetex not expecting you to fight both stages back to back. But you’re punished if you do. Unless you wanna break the ImMeRsIoN of just leaving during the high stakes and coming back later.
Vetex has to play on like god mode using only his magic. There’s no way he has actually played and experienced AO properly
About that, i hope that im not the only one that feels a difficulty spike after Calvus.
Likee, any group npc fight litteraly shreads you unless you cheese them with T-jumps, and all of Nimbus Story bosses have ungodly difficulty spike compared to Bronze ones, who are somewhat fair.
Maria is suppose to be easier then calvus funny enough.

I honestly disagree with this.
My first fights with allanon and ivar (on a new save, by the way) were easier than my fight with calvus.
I see all this complaining but ivar unironically has the easiest moveset to handle in the game, you’re just nuked if you don’t pay attention.
allanon is a giant fireball, it is not hard to keep track of him, and everything he does is equally telegraphed.
Fighting Maria legit is punishing to do so. Her iframes big attacks will kill you and if you’re down in her ship with her? Good luck not losing a chunk of your health, plus her snipers- I meant 4 shot pistols

the others are fun if you’re not just vomiting out attacks at random and paying attention to what the boss is doing.

The only difficult boss in Bronze story is Carina, and only because she’s fast. If you can just tank her / catch her in animations, she’s easy.
Maria? Oh yeah, tiny ass room with immunity and instnat giant attacks
Ivor? Oh yeah, tiny ass room and big attacks with huge damage.
Do you see the pattern?
??? Pretty sure there was dialogue that said “His energy keeps rising higher!” that what mageskin does. We would have lost the fight if his Father didn’t throw him off before he got even stronger.
an instakill attack where he slowly moves in a straight line towards you and cancels it if he takes literally any amount of damage, or are we talking about the one where he stands still with big particles forming around him for 10 seconds clearing charging up and all you have to do is walk in a direction that isn’t towards him.
just hit him or get out of the way!!!
