Out of ideas? Become an NPC!

Ever occur to you that you can become the Theos of somebody’s Odyssey? I like to park myself between Dawn Island and Redwake, but not directly blocking it. Any new player would of course get curious and check out your ship, and any experienced player would wander on past, it’s perfect.
At this point, put on the desired facade of your character, and enthuse them with the personality. Either be reserved, demanding, or cunning, the choice is yours. Don’t directly guide them through though, act as more of a mentor that they can call upon when desired, and when you know a boss is coming up, think of a reason to stay behind. If they ask for help, just teach them the things that you learned about the boss fight.
If they entertain you enough, give them something to remember you by, perhaps a weapon with your name and desired skillset on it, or something like a valuable boss drop. Maybe even a piece of your armor set that you can permanently remove because you gave it to them, but that’s a bit of a commitment.
Make sure you show off your intense capabilities in every opportunity. Either using a cool shape for your magic as a mage, having incredible size, or just using a neat potion if you’re lazy.

Maybe you’re not the type to want to be a mentor though, there’s other options. The typical idea for acting as a hostile NPC is jumping people in Caitara with a dialogue line, but if you wanna be classy, take the Sea Monster approach.

To be a Sea Monster, you first must come up with a character. You may have an existing file that fits the bill, but if not, I’d recommend Magma or Ice magic for platforms, Wind magic for knockback, Cannon Fist for ship destruction, or Abyss water for symmetry with the sea’s color. Bonus points if you use a rowboat while on the job.
Tide potions are a blessing from the lord in this one, and if you can get it to make whirlpools, use gale potions too. Being able to throw an entire wave at your opponent is huge for this method.
Now, pick a spot to terrorize people from. I’d recommend high traffic areas. Make it clear that you’re not just being a jackwad by starting off with a dialogue line, or using a tide potion to scare them.

You can also take a simpler approach by instigating transactions with players as a merchant, do note that they need 3 hours of gameplay before you can trade with them.

Yeah, it’s pretty nice to act up a role as a character.

Bumping this. My best type of idea shan’t be uncommented.

“12 minute bump beat that”

Don’t forget to stalk them through servers!
They can’t escape your wisdom…

I took an alternative route to becoming someone’s version of Theos, which is to say I became the bossfight instead.

Someone who was level 60 or something wanted to do pvp (at that level for some reason) and asked me to fight them. So I took them to munera garden and took off all my gear and then used mostly flashy attacks rather than dangerous ones to make it as close to a fair fight as I could. Pretty much exactly how Theos acts during his boss fight.

I love that.

I’d rather be Durza/Acheron without the L’s

Are you gonna… wait a minute, kill their friend, then not talk to them until the very end?

Nah, they will fire ult art ancient magic blast at the level 50 new player because they were losing to them in a fight

i love this idea but you can also do this while holding their poster to up the stakes

Yeah I remember that part in AA where Theos said “If you win you get your second magic but if you lose you are going straight to jail”

This is actually an insanely good idea, I’m going to become the kraken now.
All I need is to make a shadow-mage slot with magma as a secondary, get myself a black long cape alongside a black hood, and I’ll be throwing sharks blasts and tentacle explosions at everyone I come across!

it’s all fun and games until you throw it at a 4000 pk conjurer who jumps you :skull:

Example of how the fight would go

You just gave me an amazing idea

been there it’s hilarious

Best fraud attempt ever

“Sorry adventurer! You’d need atleast 3 hours of playtime to be able to sell things to me! Whatever that means… I mean, we aren’t in a game now, are we?”
