without weapon vanity
what i’d get with weapon vanity
staring at my messy ass back all day hurts me

This has been denied like a year ago because "hiding your weapons is advantageous” or something like that
but it would be very nice, maybe moochezz could save us?
i don’t think any pvpers would care about the miniscule advantage weapon vanity might give
by the same logic armour vanity shouldn’t exist cus it hides ur build and magics and fighting styles should have a constant visual indicator even when they aren’t equipped
i hope whoever made that decision thinks about it again
IDK about y’all, but I don’t think my first instinct upon a player attacking me is to look at their character for what weapons they’re using.
The “hiding weapons gives advantages thing” doesn’t make too much sense now either since knowing what weapons someone had no longer lets you know what skills they will be using anyway. Not the exact skills anyway
to which I said and will say: bullshit.
You cannot tell fighting styles at a glance.
You cannot tell magics at a glance.
You cannot tell weapon skills at a glance before you are attacked with them.
By this very same logic, you could say that a mage equipping a set of weapons to trick the same opponent into believing they’re a weapons build is advantageous because it would fool them… assuming they’re stupid and gullible enough to use a person’s outfit as a solid way to determine their build.
I remember making this exact argument and someone went “you can see it when they are casting”
like yeah lol gl processing the magic type and whatever you’re gonna do in 0.2 seconds
If they can tell that then they can spot a dagger throw surely.
no we should make weapons 3x bigger actually
that and— Relics exist. You can at least make such an argument for Magics, Styles a bit less, but you can tell after a few abilities… but RELICS…
Deadass: The Patrimony and Tidestone band can be completely hidden under accessories and armor; worst of all, the Crystal Orb just manifests itself whenever it’s time to be used. You can’t see the damned thing until after somebody pulls it out.
The only Relics that are always visible are staves. AND BOTH OF THEM ARE BLACK STICKS— YOU KNOW HOW HARD IT IS TO NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO AT A DISTANCE?
Letalone that Relics have the worst visual disparity, only being noticed upon:
This is such a stupid argument, but then again Vetex is good at cooking up stupid arguments.
Seriously, who gives a fuck about being able to get an advantage from just hiding your weapons?
mage’s after naming all their attacks “Umbra” and being able to use the same duplicate skills for Ultimate art:
no reason not to add it now seeing as you can switch out weapon skills anyway
solely want this because the stock of the musket covers the center of your vision when you shiftlock
I remember this, but I feel like you can just disable it in combat and it’s all good
On that note, can we PLEASE get character and magic transparency when using shiftlock now? If we got this, I might actually use shiftlock outside of the Elius fight.
