Pretty much another way to gain income in the game. It could also be seen as a way for people to meet new players and allow circulation of galleons globally.
Player Quartermaster System
How It Works
-
You’ll be able to hire players ingame to be your quartermaster, however it doesn’t mean that the player themselves needs to be there. Instead of the player, the game will copy their whole outfit and character name ( And title if the player uses one ) which will be the one to show up on the deck.
-
The ship stats that the player can give depends on their own stats however, only two or three can be given. Ship health is a guaranteed stat that the player can give which can only be 10% of their actual health. The secondary or tertiary stat will be based on their armor stats which will be further explained in the next paragraph.
-
Player stats will have the corresponding ship stats. However, the type of ship stats that a player would give depends on the percentage of your overall stat. To have secondary type, which is having guaranteed ship health and one other ship stat, one of your stats must take up 30% and above of the overall added stats. To have tertiary type which is having guaranteed ship health and two other ship stats, there should be no stat more than 30% and the nearest two stat to 30% will be chosen.
-
When adding up all the stats however, the defense stat will be 10% of it since the defense stat always have a higher number than the rest of the stats, this wont affect the overall health of the player since the guaranteed ship health is based on it.
-
The following will be what the ship stats are gonna be based on if one or two of them are chosen:
-
Power: Multiply it by 5 then if you’re a magic user then you’ll give magic storage. If you’re a strength user then you’ll give ram defense. If you’re a weapon user then you’ll give ram damage. If you’re a warden specifically, classes that uses both vitality and another stat wont be counted, then you’ll give sail endurance.
-
Defense: After getting the 10% of the defense, then multiply it by 5 which will then be added to the guaranteed ship stat, meaning that this one will be a special type since it won’t be included in the two types. If defense and some other player stats became the majority, then it will become a secondary type which only has guaranteed health and one other ship stat.
-
Agility: Divide the total number by 2 and then the 3% of the quotient that’s rounded to the nearest ones will become the percentage of ship speed.
-
Attack Speed: Divide the total number by 2 and then the 3% of the quotient that’s rounded to the nearest ones will become the percentage of turning speed.
-
Intensity: Divide the total number by 2 and then the 3% of the quotient that’s rounded to the nearest ones will become the percentage of resilience.
-
Attack Size: Divide the total number by 2 and then the 3% of the quotient that’s rounded to the nearest ones will become the percentage of stability.
How To Hire Player Quartermasters
-
Players must talk to the owner of the Sailor’s Lodge tavern, Damon, and click the new button “Hire” which will be indicated by a colored box as well. Upon clicking, a UI will pop up with the example being given at the very bottom part.
-
The UI will include a favorite system which adds them to the favorite tab. This acts as a safety net if you still want to hire the previous person with the ship stats that you need.
-
Only players who talked to Damon and have their poster set up will be shown in the hiring list. The list however only limits to eight slots and can be refreshed for free which will have a global system meaning you can hire players all over servers as long as their poster is still up.
-
If someone hired a player quartermaster, then their poster will be removed from the list. This will give more chance for other players to get hired and creating a first come first served system.
-
Hired player quartermasters can only last for two days and will be back in the list to ensure that the one hiring is active enough to keep the same player quartermaster.
-
If you favorited a player that’s been hired already, then their poster in the favorites tab will have 50% transperancy to indicate he’s been hired by someone else.
-
The cost for hiring a player quartermaster will depend on the price set by them. Don’t expect someone to hire you by overpricing yourself though so be reasonable and be up to date with people’s demand for a ship stat.
How To Set Up Your Poster
-
Players must talk to the owner of the Sailor’s Lodge tavern, Damon, and click the new button “Set Up” which is indicated by a color and then he will explain what type and amount of ship stats that you’ll be giving and that these ship stats are based on your player stats.
-
After confirming the ship stats, you’ll be asked on how much galleons you are willing to be paid for and then it will last for eight days. Players won’t be able to negotiate with the price you set up unless you wait for your poster to be set up again which is after eight days.
-
If the time limit of your poster runs out, your poster will be gone in the global list and your poster will be seen as 50% transparency in the favorites tab of player unless you set up your poster again.
-
Setting up your poster however will require you to pay 15% of the price you placed as the fee for Damon. This way, overpricing will cost you more than just having less people hire you.
Regarding The New Buttons
- When interacting with Damon, the two new buttons “Hire” and “Set Up” could be under the “Poster” button which is indicated by a color to save space.
UI Example
UI For Hiring Player Quartermasters
-
Below the “hireable quartermasters” will show a randomized list of players.
-
Refreshing randomizes the list
-
The two buttons next to it will be the two tabs in the UI, the hire tab will be the default where you can hire players, and the favorites tab will show eight at maximum of the players you favorited.
-
You must click on the poster in the list to show the stats on the right side. It will however show an icon of the stats it can give on lower left corner of the poster in the list, an example would be the icon for ship speed if the player can give ship speed.
-
The hire button itself on the very right side is self-explanatory with the heart button next to it which allows the one hiring to favorite them. If you click the heart button again though, then they will be gone in the favorites tab but you’ll be given a prompt making sure that you want to unfavorite the player.
-
You cannot search your friends directly here to encourage hiring players you do not know and perhaps allow you to get to know them. There’s a chance however that you can find your friends in here if you refresh long enough.
