Players' Legs Sink in Sand (And NPCs' Don't)

So today I found this NPC, and after a short while I noticed he seemed to be taller than my player character for some reason. Couldn’t really figure out why, considering he has no armor on. I compared with several other random NPCs and they were about the same height as me.

However, JTN pointed out that apparently, it was because my character’s legs sank slightly into the sand below, while the NPC’s didn’t And sure enough, when I checked on a stone floor, the NPC was the same height as my player character.

Odd detail, but interesting to note. I’m not sure if it applies to NPCs wearing armor on their legs though, or only occurs depending on the thickness of the sand part, or any other multitude of factors.

Here’s an example of me with my rival. However, he does have samurai legs on, and this is a different location than the other NPC.

Wait, your rival doesn’t aggro you on sight??

I’m in the AS
Criminal bounties (and pirates) don’t aggro AS players if you stand near them
It’s a neat perk that helps with NPC photography and data gathering

You’d be surprised how recently this was brought up on a different post

which

The one about npcs that are a different height to the player

wait really?
I don’t check forums too often
