It is all about the details! The wrinkles, the little tooth creases, the veins, the highlights, the bumps, the bones. If you wanna make something look scary you give it a gross amount of detailing. I used some references of sharks and saw where they wrinkled and furrowed and all and cranked it up to the max. You accentuate the things that you want to stick out with the lighting. Since this is a story illustration, I had to give Neviro a real reason to get spook’d
