1st match in a year, I don’t know what the hell is even going on. Readability is a 0/10.
Stupidly slow cutscenes! At least learn from smash…
Is this game just a “positive” stress dump with slow animations..?
Why do I keep on getting kicked because of the player service?
Why is the menu/intro so obnoxiously long? and why does the intro play whenever I join the game?
It’s surprisingly easy to get these so-called charges of yours on boombox, why was that even an argument?
Where do I disable skins? I literally can’t tell at first glance who’s playing what. Turns out I can’t, great game design.
My team just made us lose, is there no singleplayer mode/FFA mode?
And now there’s a gamemode that forces me to play characters I’m not familiar with? This is only fun to the experienced players
I’m cutting this short, but I’ve been playing for well over an hour now and I can tell that it does have a bit of substance, but it isn’t solid at all.
The new player experience is really bad, there’s nothing to familiarise yourself with the game and all of your fights are against people that are super sweaty (they could at least copy splatoon’s story mode).
Gameplay novelty is… Not novel at all, it’s just your average hero fighter.
Some things are just not explained at all and are left ambiguous, like where do I see my charge counter at on boombox.
Some gamemodes are quite literally made against new players, at least let me learn how to most efficiently use one character before forcing me to make use of random/other ones.
The outcome of matches is heavily reliant on whether or not your team is good, there’s no carrying (which can be good but oftentimes is bad).
The gameplay mostly consists of building up stress and then releasing it, which is literally unhealthy.
The music is terrible oh my god.
Please let me skip these long dialogues, these are the basics of game design.
Why are the animations so slow? And why can I take damage while in the ultimate’s cutscene? If you’re going to make a fast paced game, make it feel fast paced.
Total rating: 5/10, it’s okay but it could better itself in so many ways.
