personally i find wood better than shadow (not biased because of cherrywood)
they both have their niches. both are pretty average (i think, one is just slower but more damage)
wood synergizes with fire and you can get thermo fist with wood imbue
shadow works for conj because a slow weapon becomes faster and a low size weapon gets more size
so many nerfs its bad
at least you are above boxing in raw strenght, stand proud
