Possible Superpower Tournament

Is everyone ignoring the black hole thing

yes and I’m going to continue to ignore the black hole thing

(would’ve been godly with the lasers before durability buff)

what

I guess everyone’s ignoring the black hole thing

It was a bit op anyways so I’m willing to ignore it too

wtf is that

There’s little to no instant abilities. Sock has portals yes, but his gun is still just, well, gun speed.
I think the fastest possible ability here is portal + gun, and even then you’d have to keep moving to throw off Sock’s accuracy. Everyone else has abilities that either have to reach you or make use of their weapons.
Having lasers, which are aimed with your eyesight, that have the speed of light… they have to be balanced in a way that gives people to endure/react.
Take into account that the rework I gave you is able to erase the epidermis + dermis in just a second of contact. A little more and you can reach bone. The only counter for you would be to have to deal with two people at the same time, which is why you have a teammate. You’re supposed to work in unison with your teammate so you can provide damage from a distance. You’re underestimating how powerful erasing 5 cms on sight is. Grab a ruler and measure how much of your body from the skin to inside would be 5 cm.

What I’m doing here is giving you the ability to deal almost instant, nigh unavoidable damage by having your enemies in a 10 meter sight. The only way to deal with this would be to mess with your line of sight, redirect your lasers or attack from two directions at once. I’d say sock is your biggest threat since he can do all of those.

Ever notice how beams are either extremely strong or surprisingly useless? Because they either cause some bruise or burn on someone or completely vaporize right through the target. That’s what makes them hard to scale, their heat or attack potency. It’s why I thought giving you a fixed damage laser with counterplay yet versatility was useful for a fight that won’t end too early nor take too long. Take The Boys for example, the beams either slice through people like jelly or against superpowered people they do nothing but minorly inconvenience them.

So your options are either keep it this way, have a specific way of calculating your damage (certain temperature/damage and maybe if you put more effort it does more) or change your ability. Because beams are a BITCH to scale.

if my pokemon are so problematic then let my ability be to be able to just use all pokemon moves

  • and be able to terastalize / use Z moves

i’m fine with that, however i thought you would rather have a summoning ability (summoner gimmick)

everyone is malding about the Pokemon being too crazy so I’m just going to turn into a zoner/rushdown hybrid ig

To be fair half the Pokédex entry’s are
“Scrungle can devestate half a city block with a flick of its pinky”
But it’s never mentioned in game so it seems more balanced than it really is

Smogon in their way to slap scrungle in PU tier where it will be considered hilariously unviable despite its power lorewise (bad type matchups in this meta fr…)

ngl im thinking if i should make it 1v1s or 2v2s but it’s all npc teammates

It’s hard to say what your ability even does.

But if you want me to give it a try…

You essentially have a D&D ability.

Roll a 6d or 20d, your choice.

Your next actions will be affected by your roll.

You will ALWAYS have luck, the number you roll will be your repercussions though.

For example, a nat20 would indicate your next shot will be aimed perfectly, no matter where you shoot. It will bounce towards your target’s vital points. They either try to block it and take the shot or risk a quick bleeding or dying.

A 7 would make you shoot your shot, the recoil from it throwing your arm back and hitting you in the face. Your shot will still be on its way though.

A 13 to defend yourself would let you block for a chance to counterattack.
If you roll a nat20, you bust their balls with a kick which completely drops them.
If you roll a 14, you chop their neck with your hand and leave another opening.
If you roll a 9, you try to hit them which forces them to block and back away.
If you roll a 3, you try to hit them but step on your shoelace, tripping but accidentally falling in front of them, which makes them fall as well.
If you roll a nat1, you swallow saliva a little too wrong and cough, missing your chance and leaving you with a coughing fit for a few seconds, but accidentally hit their noggin with yours.

So you have 2 options for the 6d and 20d.

They’re either two dice you can roll in fear of the chances, if you want to have less chances you can land on, roll a 6d. If you want more chances and possibilities, roll a 20d.

OR

You can roll a 20d for your actions and a 6d for their effectiveness.

If you roll a nat20 on the 20d but roll a 1 on the 6d, your next shot will be perfectly aimed but can be blocked, and doesn’t ensure the damage will be fatal.
If you roll a nat1 on the 20d but roll a 6 on the 6d, your next shot will miss but will end up destroying the floor or some bs.
If you roll a nat 20 and 6, your next shot will be absolutely fatal, instant win. It goes towards their vitals and the damage will be massively uncontested. (Kinda broken but you DO know how odd your chances have to be to roll this, right?)

Either way, I don’t know if this is what you actually meant by your ability, and what I just described sounds a lot like what Flayire does.

Oh no, this is basically a completely separate and different ability entirely

Mine is just Murphys law in overdrive for the other person basically

So your ability is basically Wonder of U

Idk what that means

a Stand from JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. think of the “Final Destination” movies but weaponized.

It activates whenever people try to follow the user. If you even try THINKING of doing it, calamity will befall you.
You’ll accidentally cut your hand while cooking, a lightbulb near you will explode in your face, cars will impact you, someone discards a cigarette while riding on the bus, piercing your finger, can make a fucking plane malfunction mid-flight to land on you.

Eh whatever

It’s easier to show it in practice, for example, I can just make the opponent have appendicitis just because it could happen

H-How do you even control that…? :sob:
