Prohibit rate bombing (negatively or positively)

I find that much too often, people are either boosting bad topics or dragging good ones down the drain by rating a 5 star or 1 star respectively, then failing to provide any good reason why. This skews good suggestions and unfairly boosts bad ones. This would be very simple, just make a rule that, if someone is repeatedly rate bombing suggestions, they get their rating/posting permissions revoked temporarily or permanently depending on how many times they’ve done it before. I seen real great suggestions get rate bombed by one guy and significantly dragging down chances of that suggestion coming to the attention of a developer (if they are read anyway).

What does the community think? What are some instances of rate bombing you seen?

Better idea:
Remove the rating system entirely, it just leads to pointless complaints about a statistic that means literally nothing.

this entire category is kinda pointless anyway
out of all the suggestions
some of them amazing
i think ive only seen one or two actually get implemented

I wish developers did read our suggestions more often… so many good ones slip through the cracks, cause they fail to listen.

Only problem, who decides if it is actually rate bombing?

I mean, people could report em, look for obvious signs, etc. Though, now to think of it, I don’t know how this’ll be enforced.

its mostly because of the community’s endless bitching about everything everywhere that exists

a lot of it is just pointless slander against vet or whoever has drawn the ire of the community

cant blame him for not wanting to interact with us

theres no objective answer which is why this will never and should never be implemented

this should be Site Feedback though. suggestions are for the game, site feedback is anything about the forum’s innerworkings.
not that it really matters, frankly i dont think anyone moderates stuff like that.

but yeah i agree with theoricals, ratings are 100% useless and dont affect anything beyond maybe mildly hurting the OP’s feelings if they’re really sensitive.

nobody cares about ratings and they definitely wont have any impact on visibility or ‘boosting’ suggestions. either we keep them as is (and keep ignoring the number) or we remove the feature entirely, but they definitely shouldnt be moderated, thats a waste of time and ressources.

Hard agree

Site feedback outside site feedbacks, mods execute their family

i mean vetex doesn

I mean for one, the “bitching” makes sense 95% of the time, but I wouldn’t say it’s even because of any sort of “bitching”, as doesn’t even listen to his own testers. And if he doesn’t listen to his testers, who don’t have to meet any criteria anymore other than being familiar to him and his friends, then it’s no surprise he doesn’t listen to the community.

Also, his few testers that do actually test bring up the same issues as players, so if you’ll call player criticisms bitching you might as well be calling testers bitching and pointless slander as well.

Genuinely, the only truly pointless slander I’ve ever seen regarding this game that wasn’t just a handful of people rage/engagement baiting wasn’t even directed at him, and it was a bunch of little kids who play savant being angry over the strength weapon requirement.

no, just let us vote whoever and however we want, i dont need to write 5 paragrapgs explaining why i like a certain idea
free speech damnit
