Just asking, to get a rival do you have to hunt a low level bounty and then hunt them again twice more? Or do you have to eventually free them from execution or something?

u hunt any huntable npc 3 times in a row, and they become your rival
once they become your rival, they cant be executed anymore

Started with a lv20, next fight he was lv48 and the last fight he was 101
Also do it quick because in a very short amount of time 18 player servers will drop and you will never get a rival thanks to numerous people bounty hunting at once
Yes; I started hunting my rival when it was at lvl 80 and I had to free them from execution to get the last hunt for rival but it’s much easier to start with a bounty at lvl 20
Step 1. Get a rival with a magic user which doesn’t work underwater
Step 2. Farm them by fighting them in the ocean
Step 3. Profit
She is a really funky rival, I’m pretty sure she’s a Savant since she used both weapons along with explosion and wood magic. She’s really fun to fight despite how predictable she can be

The true benefit of rivals comes with their drops, which is usually a rare or higher treasure chart
I have one but he sucks. I don’t have a picture since I haven’t played much today and the one time I did play 4 other people’s rivals spawned in a row and I got bored and left

He uses snow magic and thermo fist, and since he’s a warlock he sucks at both so basically he’s handicapping himself with each attack

Both give you some chests and a sealed crate. Fortified caravels drop as much as a rare chart and it’s actually fun and non time consuming
pure weapon user honestly he is quite a push over but its funny to see him boast about how he will beat me next time when he is dead on the ground

I didn’t got rival, since all of them died before becoming rivals on executions…
