Ok now hear me out:
add some cannons that can shoot nova and other such ship affecting potion types as an additional type of cannonball in selection.
and by this I mean it as a subtype of cannon like magic cannons are a subtype. They would probably have reduced cannonball damage since yknow the potions have to survive the shot.
or perhaps to make it more usable, maybe a type of siege weapon that involves lobbing potions towards ships
it would be so cool to shoot potions at ships and would make it much easier to use said nova potions that are meant to affect ships on ships because usually you just fall off yours if you try it because of the way potion throwing works (airstall)
The idea of being able to essentially control the fight with whirlpools and waves sounds nice, if somebody goes for the ram you can just create a whirlpool to block them (if it falls fast enough)
Yeah this is why I think it should just be siege weapon based, like 12 large waves is bad enough but frigates, galleons, and ship of the lines gonna be leveling islands with waves
Nah it’s fine imo, not only would presumably some ships have more mortars but why would you need 5 potions in one centralized spot? Except for like a straight damage one like Idk electric or something like that
because 5 ice sheets is more fun than a single one or something idk, feels like there’s no use when you can just use a normal mortar and shoot 5 dense cannonballs
First of all, where is it said that mortars shoot 5 cannonballs?
Secondly, you could use a whirlpool to trap the ship while also doing damage, slow the ship even more than chainshot (if slow potions work), use large waves since they would also be easier to hit, and the rest are pretty niche
