"Pouch Tap Opens Backpack" should be on by defaulthttps://forum.arcaneodyssey.dev/uploads/default/original/4X/f/7/b/f7bfe49d456eae1abe50983f96ee075cef527c98.png
No cool intro, because i think its weird that its not option on by default, considering that it allows to use both pouches and backpack. And majority of playerbase prefers backpacks.
Amount of times i’ve told new players to enable this and it just solved their confsuin cannot be counted on both hands as of today.
Reason: Its confusing for new players and is better when enabled.
Just to clearify, i use both pouches and backpack, i have dedicated half of my pouches already and they are really good addition, but im sorry, why are we getting limited into pouches only? Sometimes bakcpack is more useful.
ill be honest they were sort of universally disliked during testing as far as i know.
though with the combo of pouch+backpack and the addition of automatic slots (like sea chart, nearest treasure chart), i think they’re very useful and arguably better than the old system. the treasure chart slots are a godsend.
I can see a valid use case for people who want to keep their hotbar clean, but most new players are not going to need pouches. Being able to access your entire backpack with the press of a button while also being able to use pouches by holding it down is a pretty good system.
You.. do realise you can use both pouches and backpack even without this setting, yes? You are not limited into pouches only.
With the setting on, holding the button opens pouches and pressing it opens backpack.
With the setting off, you can still use both, it’s just the other way around; hold to open backpack, press for pouches.
I much prefer it with the setting on because I use my backpack more often than I use pouches, but you’re completely mistaken if you think you can’t use your backpack without the setting enabled.
Doesn’t really explain why it shouldn’t be on by default. The backpack is much more intuitive than the pouch wheel. This suggestion is for new players, who may not be aware of the existence of this setting.
Furthermore, you’re wrong.
From my testing, holding the pouch key with this setting disabled will just show the pouch wheel. Tapping it causes it to briefly appear before shrinking back before it gets to a useful size.
