I’m not sure if I’m qualified to say this, but doesn’t powder fist sounds a bit weird?
Like I know vetex is referring to gun powder, but what about other types of powder?.. Like chocolate powder, coal powder, a certain drug you sniff, wheat flour, baking powder, etc.
Coz isn’t something like “Blasting Fist” sound nicer?
Powder is probably one of my favorite words (up there with unravel/unraveling) so I don’t mind it. You’re right that the mental image it conveys is a bit skewed. When I think “powder” I think innocent playful stuff, like snow, dust, glitter, or clouds. But personally I think it’s a lot funnier that way. “What fighting style do you use? Aw, Powder Fist? Sounds so cute ” Then you punch them once and they freaking explode.
Blasting Fist is a lot cooler, I totally agree. But I’m still on the fence about which name I like more.
One thing that’s confused me a ton ever since they announced this, isn’t trace magic imbue so incredibly feint lore-wise that the most strongest warriors don’t notice nor realize they’re doing it?
Igniting gunpowder with this trace magic and even shielding yourself from the explosion with it doesn’t seem so subtle.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks the name “Powder Fist” sounds kind of lame in comparison to “Iron Leg, Thermo Fist, Basic Combat”(Boxing is excluded as it’s not an original name). So far, the names of the fighting styles kind of give you an idea of what the FS does, but when I think “powder fist” I literally think of some guy dipping his fists in flour and punching people.
Then I learn about what Powder Fist actually does. In my opinion, the name doesn’t fit the style. Reminds me of the “Strong Warrior” incident.
