I think we’ve all known for a while that Roblox has been engaging in sketchy behavior. However, after doing a brief bit of digging, I think the situation is a lot more dire than most suspected.
TL;DW: Roblox and Persona, which has been tied to other platforms like Discord, is leaking your information—including your location—to the United States Government. And they’ve been profiling people based on perceived “risk” levels.
If you have already given your information to Roblox, it is, unfortunately, too late. My advice would be to henceforth watch what you say on Discord and elsewhere, including in DMs, especially if you’re nonwhite and have already shared images of your face to Roblox.
I cannot emphasize enough; nothing you do anymore is private. If you are a US citizen or inhabitant, please, please be more careful than I have been.
Mods, if you’re going to take this down on account of it being “political”, then you’re all genuine cowards and complacent. This is more important than Arcane Odyssey itself. I beg you to let this exist as a warning for the safety of the forum’s userbase.
i dont think theyre gonna be using info gathered from roblox to carry out deportation operations or persecute us
discord may be a different story, but last i heard theyre moving away from persona as their provider, and as of now you dont have to complete an age check to use the whole site
but its still a massive invasion of privacy and breach of trust; fuck roblox and persona to hell

You only really had to do the age check if you wanted to view sensitive content (18+) but otherwise the site would’ve functioned just as normal. Though them scanning just about every message you sent, DMs included, is a dick move
they’ve been doing this for years; persona is just the newest government dick-sucker providing them with all that info
in general, watch what you say online, even if all this surveillance is outlawed tomorrow (it wont) or in the next administration (it wont; both sides are pushing this shit)

Fearmongering clickbait. Roblox isn’t doing anything itself aside from making use of Persona Identity’s service, one that has been recognised to illegally retain biometrics in 2024 all while having ties to Palantir, a mass surveillance firm.
If you didn’t go through the identity verification procedure, you don’t have to worry about anything for as long as you continue to follow the fundamental sanitary procedures of internet browsing.
