I also checked and vetcord didn’t seem to care nearly as much as the forums are
I’m glad somebody else sees through this bullshit.
i think 500 would be more accurate to what’s worth the grind for hecate, but nobody’s spending twenty dollars to reset magic
Someone make a topic for this yapping before poor Divanochi has to seperate it all or something
honestly I’m down for more expensive and impactful gamepasses, hell, I’d probably buy into a few of them, but this is predatory.
creating a problem (horrendous mechanic) then selling the solution (skipping it for only 19.99).
Can we PLEASE stop with the spiteful framing here?
So many of these points are neglecting the fact that Vetex doesn’t want you to change magics to begin with. This isn’t a path you are supposed to take for gameplay purposes this is an option that is being added because people want it. So yeah it makes perfect sense to design things like this.
If you want to assert that there is a precedent of QoL changes being solved through gamepasses then find other examples. The way that magic-switching has been handled is 100% consistent with how Vetex believes you should be able to change magics. This alone cannot be used to prove terrible precedent because it relies on underlying principles completely unrelated to the monetization structure of the game.
Like stuff like this feels like it’s intentionally ignoring the context to vent frusturation about the prices:
He’s intentionally making bad game mechanics because he doesn’t want you to switch magic. He’s intentionally making you buy a gamepass for 2k because he doesn’t want you to switch magic.
^^^^^^^^ why is this being ignored ![]()
It’s a big leap because Sunken allows you to pay for an upgrade. Hecate does not. I don’t know why so many people are trying so hard to assert that this is p2w
No, it is not. Not having to click 9,999 times to trade 9,999 bones is QoL. Reducing the amount of effort to get something in the game is not QoL.
And I explained why you were incorrect.
there is no “problem” this is something they never wanted to add in the first place and we got at least SOME method of doing it for free, he isn’t removing the free method, he’s not making it worse now that’s been added, he just doesn’t want people to be doing it in the first place and so he went and added it with such a cost to discourage doing so
It is a problem if the people playing the game dont like it
You’re exactly right. If he wanted to milk this to make money (which he should btw) he would make the price something reasonable. I just want it to be around 500 robux so the game can make more money from meta chasers and whales
It’s funny looking back at some of the original conversations we had before this gamepass was added and seeing literally everything proven right.
well they have the option of just not buying an optional alternative method to do something that exists in the game for free within the completely free game
believe it or not vetex doesn’t have any sort of obligation to his fanbase given that the game costs us no money to play
Honestly, i’ve came to following conclusion for myself.
If it does not impact my gameplay, i dont care
Im f2p, no bobux spent, so buyable hecate does not bother me. It is either quite a hit on someone’s wallet, or someone’s time.
So eh, why should i care. He didn’t make hecate worse just to sell the solution, he just added a new way of reseting magic.
Do you mean framing vetex as being spiteful? I’m not, he’s being spiteful.
or do you mean framing vetex spitefully? I’m not, he’s very clearly and openly doing what I’ve said he’s doing.
Highlighting the red flags.
This stopped being a matter of simply making a game mechanic shit when he added a ludicrously overpriced gamepass to skip the game mechanic being shit.
Now it is predatory.
idc about obligations or options if the majority of players dont like a thing in your game it is a problem like it or not
but the fact is that it’s his game and therefore doesn’t matter if players dislike it
it’s like asking PM to nerf Lobotomy Corporation’s difficulty near the end because people don’t like how hard it is
your mindset is backwards
That’s exactly why it should matter to him.
Warm, this may come as a shock to you, but we, the players, are kinda sorta where vetex gets money from.
To be fair every game has a certain feature that most players don’t like so this isn’t a huge deal
