5k renown, you say… you get 50k renown per kill on a chill hauler that has been farming renown in the past, but stopped. Also, I don’t think bandit beating should give you high amounts of renown at some point, but, for example increasing the amount of renown for sinking ships, a fortified ship may be a big deal, so rewarding PvE’ers for destroying them should also be considered. Surviving higher Navy raids (killing all of its members) should also reward players due to it being very chalenging (unlike ganking someone with a slowness III potion and obliterating them in seconds for not being prepared).

Yes. In this current age, the best way to get renown is to hunt players. Sorry to tell you but that was intentional

The reward is keeping the brig to ketch amount of galleons you gain from it + being able to get a title called ā€œBronze Sea Abolitionistā€

Oh and You probably don’t know this but commodore Kai and Merlot gives 5k renown per kill. You just have to kill them :mariomug:

This is more of a general game issue than anything.

Some potions should not be linked to some catalysts. That’s a hill I’ll stand and die on.

I have solo’ed merlot like 4 times, i must agree, but it’s still quite unfair, you, PvP’ers get insane amounts of renown for doing stuff that may be MUCH easier than killing commodore for ~x10 less reward. This is not balanced and should change in the upcoming update, because losing 100k bounty daily due to spawnkillers and gankers make me question: is this about skill that much, really? It really isn’t.
And also by Navy raids I mean these 3 heavy ships stuffed with high level crew that will chase you to the end of time. This is a bounty-only part of the game you probably have no idea about.

Key is suspended, responding to them will get you literally nowhere.

Anyways as for the actual topic:
Deckhands are genuinely the only reason why I care about renown to any extent.
I’m happy to hear they may be getting seperated from renown so I can get as far away from this game’s godawful pvp as possible.

It’s so true, i was literally sounding like that PvP’er sweat from that meme when i heard the news, i wonder what will be the point of renown when they implement that, and i’m afraid that vetex can give it even higher influence on others’ gameplay…

This game is supposed to have a heavy focus on PvE and exploration.
PvP was never supposed to be a giant impactful thing that the game was built around.

That’s how the game was and always has been advertised.

I disagree.

The game is balanced and designed around PvE.
Its one of the reasons this game’s pvp is so shit, but that’s not a bad thing… Unless vetex decides to make PvP important to progression and heavily incentivized.

speaking of deckhands, i got lucky and was able to get a legendary deckhand with only 300k renown

But don’t deckhands that are a lower rarity that you rank up to legendary have more stats or something? I heard about that ages ago here
