Now I feel like by this point we all know that Prince Lucian and Queen Veronica have ties to The Order Of Aesir, they’re a bit too suspicious and knowing Vetex (The King Of Lack Luster Plot-Twists) they will be revealed to be evil, There is no explanation needed here.
Some people Kind Of Believe that Revon is going to turn into a Curse User boss battle. Ravenna was the one to obtain the Curse after all, however with it’s ties to The Order, the curse is now available to any of the corrupted nations, the 2 major Order members in Ravenna have perished so they no longer have any real authority over the Curse.
As the Order most likely knows that we’ve just killed one of their Highlords, Queen Veronica would get these news the fastest. I theorize that maybe somewhere in-between the time we were at Skyhall, she got the news of The Aesir Assaulter 3001 merking one of her allies, and that said Assaulter is currently sleeping peacefully next door. She could’ve gotten quite spooked and possibly decided to plan the oh-so poorly thought out attack on Liara so that Allanon, The Strongest Guy She Knows, could maybe get us killed in his blind rage (Although if Allanon won, then I don’t quite know how she would’ve dealt with him afterward..)
With that plan failing and us catching onto the suspicious activity in Skyhall, she would want to arm herself with something as fast as humanly possible, Queen Veronica doesn’t seem to possess any physical power of her own unlike her sons and her husband (I assume that Lucian bears a magic of some sort.) The cloud curse isn’t just the closest curse for her to obtain, but it also perfectly fits with the theme of Skyhall as a whole much more than a random Ravennian Brat from a few chapters ago. Considering that she just got the curse, she would also be pretty weak which would be perfect for us (A Newbie Curse Chipper)
If she gets a curse then her husband will know since i’m pretty sure he has sensing. And also the physical changes associated with curses (eye color). So it would be a bad idea.
Her son however, i can totally see him go behind her back to get it, he might be a momma’s boy but he’s first and foremost a brat
He was exhausted out of his mind after exactly 1 barrier “attack” he used to banish Allanon. The death of Zenith wouldn’t actually bring too much trouble, there exists 4 entire families to take princesses from for our little friend Lucian, and Veronica could operate everything from behind the curtains after the marriage is settled. Completely seizing the Skyhall kingdom for The Order, It would them benefit alot!
(Although, we’re currently the wrench being thrown into these works)
Although…couldn’t they have just killed Allanon and Liara earlier? Were they really fearing that Allanon was strong enough to resist The Order’s Poison just enough to strike them back in the ass?
My issue with the whole assassination plot. It’s just plot it doesn’t feel justified in lore at all. It’s an excuse to get Phoenix boy to be a boss fight
I think it was just unfortunate timing for the Order (who I do guess the Queen and the Prince we haven’t beat up yet are aligned with) that we were there when this happened and they don’t recognize us, rather than it being a spur of the moment move in response to us showing up. As for Revon getting the Curse, I think it’d be more interesting having a free agent Curse running around gunning for us.
We don’t know, we’re making guesses. As for this “plot twist”, I hardly think that someone with authority over a nation or faction being part of an organization known for having such authorities being in said organization qualifies as a plot twist. But hey, I’m sure that the illustrious people of the forums appreciate you squeezing in a jab at Vetex, however out of place it was.
Perhaps they decided it was time to make their move just before we arrived.
This is funny to me. Out of everything, getting your flesh and blood child to be next in line for the throne doesn’t make sense? That is the number one classic reason to do an assassination. Number two would be getting someone that is politically misaligned with your goals out of the way, which also fits here.
The order did the assassination not the queen. The order’s goal is to reach the peak of magic likely involving chaos. They use forsaken disguises which they even fucked up to kill both the prince and her fiance.
