Question about the forsaken

So what’s the point of the forsaken being a joinable group for the player?

The navy and syndicate are the og good/evil groups, with uniforms, and are important to the war seas overall

The proxy and brotherhood are new good/evil factions that don’t have enforced uniforms and take a different moral stance on what it means to be good/evil so while I don’t think they’ll be important their role makes sense to me.

The oathbound is seemingly being set up as a important origination in the back ground of the story and I believe even mentioned in the story (the brother hood may also be a defect from this group I’ve seen theories on?)

The seekers while not outwardly important have shown their signs in both seas now and likely may have connections to the order. I can see this faction playing a role late game

Then there’s the forsaken which feel like the syndicate but for the sky which is neat but they don’t feel important and likely won’t play a role past the nimbus sea which goes back too why is it joinable?

literally, the forsaken show up once optionally, and the order pretends to be them one single time. other than that they do nothing and have no significance to anything.

Basically just a weak plot device because all Vetex knows to fucking do when storywriting is use forgettable characters as shields or as a random quest objective

The idea of the forsaken is alright imo. The nimbus lands is a giant thing so factions appearing there is valid. The forsaken being a sky syndicate offbrand makes enough sense. But why are they joinsble? That part makes no sense to me

Bro forgot the name for The Oathkeepers

Extremely fair, I literally don’t get what vetex was onto making this. They are mentioned a single time when the Order impersonates them and are only joinable by going to a side island in the Nimbus lands, finding an obscure and well-hidden secret place and completing a questline.

Most players will only ever go to Nimbus lands because of Nimbus wilds charts or to farm Allanon, the story itself is contained solely to Maynard farm, Ivoris, Windcrest, Library of Aneignos and Nimbus wilds, ignoring Brighthollow, Snowriven and Mistville completely, and even if someone decides to check out the other sky islands, the secret is so hard to find due to the island being desorienting that I wouldn’t be surprised if most people gave up searching for the secret and the quest, even if they were looking for it in the first place.

It’s like vetex added a faction, then went extremely out of his way to ensure it’s as obscure and exclusive as possible just to spite the faction itself… where have we seen vetex adding something out of pure spite, again?

I’m retracting my statement. The forsaken doesn’t make sense. Sea folk exist in the nimbus land even if rare. The syndicate could 100% have a small branch in the nimbus lands. And with the uniforms being wrong could of made more sense since we the players know the syndicate uniforms so it could of been a cool detail for those who pay attention to the syndicate

Yes, I did lol

Plus they got piss-colored cloaks iirc(the Forsaken)

Yeah they wear yellow cloaks but I don’t think the group has forced uniforms so the lore breaks?

Vetex just fix the plot holes damn it :sob:

Of all the names Vetex could’ve chosen and he picked a poor one for the current time we’re in
