Questions about Arcane universe

  1. Does magic pollution affects power of magics in a way? Like, maybe due to large amount of magic in air, mages are able to absorb magic with their boddies and release it through magic circles in larger amount?

  2. Does magic “that comes from the soul” is weaker or stronger than “Circle magic”?

  3. Does every living being have some kind of magic energy in them?

  4. Does magic usage left any small amount of magic pollution?

  5. Theoraticly, can we detect magic pollution or magic energy in living creatures(not high lvl players) through “magic sensing”?

Well, that’s maybe all…

  1. We’ll have to see where and how Vetex takes this new concept of Magic Pollution. What you suggest is probably likely.

  2. Not sure. Sounds like it?

  3. Most likely

  4. Magic Pollution still a new concept in lore. So not sure

  5. Probably

Here’s my very helpful feedback :fr:

1 maybe? Most of the pollution is in smth and not in the air. This is primarily in the ocean and clouds hence sky islands. And also why curse users go poof cause they’re made of magic and magic reacting with magic doesn’t end well for them

2 I assume equal if not more powerful given that it quite literally takes your life force to do so

3 this has been asked a lot of times and vetex replied to this but iirc yeah basically, can’t really be damaged by shadows

4 the average mage hardly would contribute to any but technically yes but you’d have to get theos vs durza world ending lvls of destruction

5 yeah, I’d imagine you’d be able to if you concentrated enough

  1. I mean sure, the only instances this happened is the AA Peacekeeper’s ashes absorbing all that magic pollution

  2. Primitive Magic is probably the rawest form of Magic, which is maybe why it was extremely taxing to use back then so stronger

  3. Id say so

  4. What Jar said

  5. Probably

Stronger, I think. Soul magic is very creative and you can really form any magic out of your soul, plus you could do things like reading minds and teleporting with soul magic. It was abandoned since it was too costly on the soul (obviously)

I believe so. Not like one can really use it unless they have the magic gene tho

Probably

Modern magic draws from ambient magic energy in the environment around the player, so they would have more access to magic energy in more magic polluted environments. Though it wouldn’t immediately get more powerful unless they put more into their attack

Maybe. Magic attacks (Like puddles made by a water magic user) turn back into magic energy after time. It has to be a big attack to do much of anything though

3 is a yes. Every living person has magic energy, some just aren’t able to do anything with it

maybe

I believe it was said that circle magic took far less energy and was far less taxing than soul magic. Soul magic could literally kill you if you tried to use to much of it, and even if you did master it without doing that; wizards who used soul magic usually died very young.

I’d say yes, and that’s how I explain “magic energy” in my writing. It’s an energy present in all living things, but only humans have learned to cast magic with it. I have no idea about how it works canonically tho.

idk, maybe?

Probably.

Magic sensing retconned magic nerds

Ki sensing :sunglasses:

yes and no, they’re stronger, but their drawback of reducing your lifespan is too much

yeah

good question, but probably not, IIRC charging absorb magical energy in the air, so basically when you use a spell and it turn back to being magical energy it will just return back to how it was
unless someone’s soul can also create magical energy itself then we’re going to have another problem

pretty sure the answer ( canonically that is ) is yes, though probably wont be in the game

plausible

didn’t say however the former mentioned magic is unrefined, raw magic that shortens the user’s lifespan so my answer is that soul magic is stronger because of the sheer weight of drawbacks it gives after use

yes

look at theos vs. durza

yes
