Random concepts from my old secondary school project

You know that certain special memory when you and your friends got together thinking up concepts for a game only to quit after like 2 days when all everyone could do was add premade stuff from the toolbox and copypaste yt tutorials?

Here’s some magic/power idea we had. I’ll add more if I feel like it, maybe make new stuff too. The old names were a bit cringy and Chinese-like (Outer Space Ice :sob:) so I’ll also give them cooler ones.

Duskichor

Old name: Sea of Everlasting Night
Inspiration: Leliel from Neon Genesis Evangelion

Shadow if it was liquid. We had a few ideas for it, one of the more notable being that it would be from a deeper layer of the sea, potent enough to form a layer of haze that turns the vision of those within it and just above the surface pitch-black, making the denizens of the Sea nocturnal as it’s always night for them; since the Duskichor is one with the water itself, it also participates in the water cycle yet gathers in one place, forming what could be called a Black Moon. It would seem from the outside that the Black Moon itself is actually the source of the darkness.

Rimestar

Old name: Outer Space Ice, False Nagivators
Inspiration: Stories about celestial navigation
The new name came from The 5th Herrscher, Herrscher of Rimestar- Combination of Ice and Gravity.

Power granted to a young princess after her passing. She joyfully forged false stars of ice upon the sky, intends to lead ill-equipped seafarers to her kingdom, a realm now slumbering in ice. Died too young to understand, she thought of the dead as inanimate dolls, decorating them with Rimestar to her own images and putting their pallid corpses in her Court of White.

Rimestar as a power is the ability to lower the temperature of anything that isn’t vacuum. Drained of heat, the air around would form glittering crystals, which would allow for more crystals to form. In the realm of ice, while the coldness kills by shutting down each of the body’s functions, the Rimestar crystals silently take away a small bit of their unfortunate victims. Unable to feel due to the extreme coldness, by the time the victims collapsed, they would have left a trail of colourful glimmering stars, shining in various colour resembling their outward appearance with glossy reddish-brown in the mix.

Cinderblight

Original name: Ashes of Curing Blight
Inspiration: One dude’s mom cleaned his wound with tobacco from a cigarette and he thought it’d be cool if this was a thing lmao.

Cinderblight was intended to be a magical disease that causes slow combustion in organic beings. When the Cinderblight had finally claimed enough of its victim, the Plaguebearers burst into a greenish, roaring flame. The remains bear healing properties that scale with how “lively” its victim was. When stricken by the disease, the Plaguebearers gain the ability to manipulate Cinderblight in return for speeding up the combustion progress.

Should a death row criminal wish to have their sin-drenched name absolved, they can request a part in the Sickens’ Saintly Crusade. These would-be Knights of Cinderblight will take the oath to cleanse the world of the Mind Plague. In contrast to the Crusade’s name, Cinderblight Knights vigorously sweep through the battlefield in hope for their atonement; encased in clad iron armor designed to nurture the Cinderblight, for each inch of flesh exposed is a must-avoid for their opponent lest they risk direct contact with infected blood. The knights’ final act of kindness is their own fiery death, for their ashes will serve as battlefield remedies regardless of who gets to them first - a sign of noble qualities still resided within their owner.
