Just some random Ideas I had when playing the game, and my only active suggestion thread that is more “Open” is my QoL one which none of these really fit into imo, so that’s what this suggestion is for!
Wandering NPC Changes (like civilians and stuff)
- When 2 civilians start a fight, you can fire a warning shot as a hero to break them up and you’ll get a little fame for it.
- NPCs can murder each-other maliciously rather than currently only in response to a thief, killing a murderer will give you a good bit of fame.
- Some NPCs with magic may go mad (very rare) and start causing havoc on towns, you can defeat these NPCs and they’ll either be arrested or they’ll show up as a criminal on the bounty boards afterwards.
- Some criminals can be found wandering as NPCs (usually lower level ones like level 20) and if you recognize them you can fight and apprehend them. They may wear cloaks or something to obscure their face.
Clan/Guild Building Changes
- More In-Depth customization, kind of similar to Bloxburg but not on the same level. Would make building more fun.
- Ability to remove certain structures on islands (like the ruined towers on Whispering Caverns) as long as they don’t contain important stuff. Maybe also an ability to “Restore” the ruins if they do contain important stuff or just if you want to.
- All farms and reagent pots are removed and instead replaced with customizable gardens that work similar to reagent pots but have more usage. You can plant wheat and any farmers nearby will still work as they normally do, but you can also harvest some of the wheat for yourself. Also more special seeds like one for a tree that grows golden apples. Seeds could either be rare drops from various activities or can have a special NPC that sells them. I just think Botany can be fun in games and would give more of a reason to build. Every island should also have the same amount of space for planting so there isn’t like an objective best island to build at (like eastern reaches or cassia bay). This could be disabled for clan servers incase PVPers want more incentive to claim other islands (though I think the feature could just be reworked for this). Some seeds could also be given out via events so there are better lootpools rather than just seasonals and the occasional food item like the cookie dough.
- More NPCs for various shops, and simply having more NPCs with shops on your island will generate passive drachma under the pretense that those NPCs are rendering their services to other NPCs (can add wandering civilians or even occasional ships at docks to further support this and make builds feel more alive).
- Certain buildings can attract/spawn certain NPCs, like you could place down a Barracks to spawn Guard NPCs or just stalls in general for merchant NPCs (wouldn’t actually be tradeable since I feel that’d be too overpowered). Maybe a tavern building that can spawn Adventurers/Bounty Hunters/etc? (Suggested by @Amuka)
Misc Changes
- Some kind of system tied to the logbook that increases your damage and resistance towards bosses based on the amount of times you’ve killed them. Would be tied to the account rather than the file like Deepwoken’s bestiary. Could also apply to animals and even monsters like Dragons/White Eyes/etc.
- When you have your settings set to the ingame file name for leaderboard, It also shows your ingame file name under rivals on the bounty board. (So instead of like “A known rival of [username]” it’d be “A known rival of [character name]”)
- Scallops start out as a food ingredient and when cooked you get scallop shells as a byproduct for brewing. I think a lot of things in this game would be cool if you could use specific parts for different things like this.
- Bird Nests with Eggs for cooking
- Special recipes from cook-npcs as well as ones obtainable through events (so you can make cookie-dough year round rather than it just being a purchase-able ingredients for specifically yuletide)
- Cazal now has a shop that sells very rare items (such as the ones that would be hard to get for deckhands, like Dark Sea Diamonds or Golden Apples). Though, a ghost has no need for mortal currencies.. Instead, he’ll task you with a “Quest” to do different acts of chaos (just randomly selected from his questline, scaled depending on the rarity of the item) in exchange for them. Don’t ask how he procured such rare curios, a Ghost never reveals his secrets (unless, of course, its about joining his super duper ultra cool cult).
