##Arcane Odyssey Feature Proposal: Randomized Shop NPCs
With Full Release bringing potionmakers and bankers to spots where Deckhands spawn, I’ve had an idea. Randomized shop NPCs that do jobs of regular ones better, with a rough gold outline around their icon. (More deckhand spots would have to exist, because Monos Island already has no left. Plenty of empty in the towns.)
Tinkerers
“You’ve got ideas that you want to make reality? AND you’re gonna give me the materials? Let’s do this!”
NPCs that let you make various things like the luminous waist lantern, in exchange for existing materials. They would ask for a surplus of materials, and not show up in every town (like every NPC in this list).
Example shop item: Luminous Torch
Cost: 2x luminous coral; 15x Bone
Cosmetic Artist
“Want a change of clothes? I’m the man. I do makeup too.”
Does everything a tailor does, and also sells cosmetic shirts and pants and has eyelash versions of eyes in the change menu. (Those already exist).

Forgot to add something i have now that solves this.
I dunno about you but I’d be glad to find NPCs with functions I can actually use more often.
I have my 4 deckhands and my 4 fleet commanders so every deckhand that spawns is forever useless.
Just adding the amount of non-deckhand NPCs to the amount of deckhand spots works

Alright, I’ve got some ideas of my own
Advanced Enchanter
Players can sometimes get mythic enchantments on their gear when enchanted by this NPC, or when they disenchant gear get an enchantment scroll back, both of these at the cost of much higher prices
Weaponsmith
Tbh imo this one should either just be a regular spawn or have their functionality added to the Armorer. The Weaponsmith sells a selection of Old and Regular tier weapons, slightly randomised everytime they restock (or perhaps just all of the available options at once). This means that Warriors no longer have to rely on RNG early game for decent weapons. They could also sell Weapon Skill Tomes.
Librarian
Sells many different types of books, primarily Weapon and Spirit skill tomes, but could also sell rare level enchantment scrolls for a steep price (though that may conflict with the Enchanter so possibly not), along with notebooks and perhaps some randomised lore books for people interested. Tbh not entirely sure on this one but wanted to get the idea out anyway.
Merchants
The Merchants you see on ships out and about, now waiting at islands. Same mechanics as the other ones, you can buy a randomised assortment of items.
Don’t enough deckhands spawn?
Even with the current NPCs taking up deckhand spots, the spawns are still completely dominated by deckhands.
It isn’t going to hurt new players to find other NPCs more often.
sometimes ppl might want a deckhand with a specific stat (or specific style that is easier to level up loyalty with for fleets)
the more stuff that could be added would make it a lil more tedious to find the right deckhands for your ship build
So, you get slightly inconvenienced in the early game for benefits later.
Sounds like a great trade.
Or, hear me out, we stop acting like town buildings are pristine and must not be touched at any cost, remove them in favor of shops with actual personality, and no longer have shops that consist of a single market stall or, better yet, one single person standing in the open, and deckhands keep their spawns as well.
