Its not about not being able to handle a war.
He is trying to avoid starting a conflict over someone who is already destined to die because of the devourer effects
take it how you will but he essentially can read you mind and probably obliterate you if you have not good intention but that’s just what i think the dialogue implies
he’s also REALLY smart and only in that tree to hibernate because he is so smart
I think Akeem has definitely got a curse, he’s the only one that Nilah would want anywhere near or even attacking the fenrir and he’s got those ourple eyes which are VERY likely caused by a curse (unless he is just that guy)
