I wanted to make a Rare Spell, Technique, Weapon and some Armor to finish it off. So uh…

First off, our Spell; Absorption.

Absorption is simple; it works like an Explosion, being able to either be placed or self-expended. As for how it would act; imagine a combination of Surge, Crash and Argos’ Beast Instinct. Let me explain.

So, essentially, you hold the button down, and in an (editable) range, it sucks in all players in the vicinity while slowly dealing VERY minor damage. Additionally, it would reduce the amount of damage you take while being held down by only a little bit, similar to Crash.

This seems pretty underpowered, but against opponents who don’t know how to be quick, it could lead into some deadly combos, like this into Explosion for instance. However, it can easily be punished as well, since opponents being, er, “absorbed” could still use ranged moves. While the damage from these moves would be reduced as I mentioned earlier, it’s still damage. And even a couple points lower could possibly be vital to winning or losing the fight.

As for how this would look, I imagine something like the buildup to Megumin’s “Explosion,” stars and all. This is probably my least favorite of all these, but I still do like it a lot. As for Magic Points, it would probably cost about 100.

Then, our Technique; Grapple.

Grapple would act like another grab, launching you at the mouse. If it connects, it will involve you grabbing the opponent by their neck (even if you have Iron Leg). From here, it depends on what you choose as your animations.

There would be two animations to change; “Combo” and “Finisher.” Combo would change the 3-hit move you do after grabbing them. I should mention that, unlike Rushdown, these 3 hits are not changeable. It will always be 3.

Combo’s animations are purely cosmetic, and would include;

  • Slap : Slap your opponent in the face 3 times before doing the Finisher.
  • Punch : Punch them in the nose 3 times before doing the Finisher.
  • Kick : Do 2 kicks with each respective foot and a 3rd dropkick before doing your Finisher.
  • Hug : Wring your arms around your opponent, squeezing them to do 3 rounds of damage.

After doing these 3 hits of relatively low damage, you’d do your finisher. These animations would actually effect knockback, alongside your own placement after the animation.;

  • Crash : Continue to wring them around the neck and slam them into the ground along with yourself.
  • Sledgehammer : Throw your arms above their head and come careening down with them.
  • RKO : Works just like Crash, but with Hug’s same animation.
  • Slamdown : Grab them by the shirt and send them hurtling into the earth.

This is probably my second favorite of the options I’ve made. I know it’s just Rushdown but cooler, but I genuinely like this as a grab more than Rushdown, as it seems faster, but also less mobile, making it better for faster paced players, alongside Thermofist users who can get right back into action. Additionally, unlike Rushdown, it carries you with the opponent, allowing you to combo easier than Rushdown.

This, too, would likely only cost 100 points in Strength.

Next up, our Rare Weapon; Abyssal Frost

Abyssal Frost - A blade, seemingly stylized after a katana, embedded with arcanium in both the blade and the hilt. It is believed to have been made in a cold, northern area, up upon a mountain, but was caught in the deep abyss of the sea. This blade would also cause Freezing upon hit.

Similar to the Sunken Set, it would be caught from the ocean, but at a slightly more common chance. As for skills, they would likely follow the same stat requirements as Sunken Sword…

M1 - A basic slash combo, with two swings with the right hand and a finish with a twirl in rapid succession.

Q - 100 Points - Frost Flare - Stick the blade into the ground, and then thrust it forward, launching freezing gusts of air in front of you. Works just like Mountain Wind.

E - 130 Points - Seismic Pierce - Stick the blade into the ground and dash forwards, leaving a bright blue line in the ground, which bursts into icy wind a second later.

R - 170 Points - Skyline Spin - Spin the blade all around you in quick speeds, following a similar effect to Shining Cycle.

? - 200 Points - Frosted Pummel - Leap at your opponent and stab through their chest, and then slam towards the ground, before slapping them in the face several times and kicking them away.

? - 430 Points - Ultimate Art: Nightbird’s Wrath - Summon a giant white, phoenix-like bird behind you as you dash towards your opponent, slashing a multitude of times before outstretching your arms, causing the bird to explode, and causing major knockback as well.

This is definitely my favorite. I love it. Like, a lot. The skills can also cause Bleeding, just like Sunken Sword.

And finally, some Rare Armor; the Frostguard Set.

The Frostguard Set - A set of warming clothes, worn by an ancient civilization who was lost within the bounds of the Dark Sea. The set seems to have been imbued with frosted magic, possibly due to it’s golden-arcanium lining.

Despite this, however, the Frostguard Set would be able to be found anywhere by fishing, at a lower chance than the Sunken Set, but still a rather low chance, similar to the Abyssal Frost. The set grants Power, slight Defense, and 1 Warding. The set itself, not including the gold and feathers, would be white and blue in design, and would probably have similar designs to the Snowquill Set in BoTW / ToTK. ADDITIONALLY, similar to how the Sunken Set gives a constant Soaked effect, this would likely give off Freezing particles. It should also be mentioned that this armor, while in the Dark Sea, would have an even higher chance of being fished up. (So like, let’s say the usual chance is 1/500. In the Dark Sea, it would likely be 1/250.)

Frostguard Hood - A hood similar in design to those of Greenwish, embedded with gold and white/blue feathers.

Frostguard Robes - A robe, with a almost hoodie-like look to it, with feathers lining the sleeves and gold lining the seams of the wrists.

Frostguard Leggings - Baggy leggings lined with feathers, and golden seams at the cuffs of the legs. Compared to the rest of the set, which takes on a lighter blue or white gradiant coloration, this one would be darker (say, about Abyss Water Magic blue, while the others are Spring-Tropical, or just pure white.)

Frostguard Anklet - A blue and white striped anklet, made up of Arcanium Iron and embedded with Arcanium Gold. It goes on the right leg.

And uh… yeah.

TL;DR:

Absorption; A holdable spell that sucks in opponents and deals minor damage to them; easily punishable but also grants possibility for combos.

Grapple; A grab that involves 3 hits and then a crash into the ground, acting like a fast, mobile Rushdown that’s easier to combo, but also easier to punish.

Abyssal Frost; A katana-like weapon with lots of mobility moves, including a grab and an UltArt with massive AOE and knockback, much like Vindicator’s moves.

Frostguard Set; An ancient armor-set reminiscent of a hoodie or the Greenwish set, which gives Power, Defense and low Warding, lined with Arcanium Gold.

And uh, yeah, that’ll be all. I’m tired and this suggestion took a lot of typing. My wrists hurt. Goodbye! I hope this wasn’t a pain to read.

I really like the weapon, and the armor seems cool, although I do think the armor should get increased chance when in the dark sea. Otherwise, great suggestion all around.

Ooo, good idea.

I think I thought about that, and then proceeded to forget about it when writing it, but yeah. I’ll include that in an edited version. Thanks!

Absorption is fine but should have a different name. Maybe “funnel” or “magnet”.

Grapple sounds kinda lame. Needs to be more unique.

The rare weapon is cool but doesn’t meet the standards of a new spell or technique. But it does meet the standards for a rare weapon, which is lower imo. I don’t think the moves are mechanically very unique. Getting it from fishing is really boring though, it should be related to the random glaciers in the ocean or from diving spots or the dark sea (preferably the second or third option).

The frostguard set sounds pretty cool. It should be added. Getting it from fishing is, yet again, really boring. It should be obtained the same way as the sword.

Overall, everything is pretty good except for the technique.

I actually like “Funnel” a lot.

And yeah, Grapple is probably the worst idea here. Truthfully, I just wanted to grab opponents by the shirt and slap them.

Me when I see degenerates making cat-maid girls who literally hug people to death:

I was thinking more along the lines of “big burly wrestler breaking your bones,” but that works too I guess.
