Ima just say this right here before even speaking about the spell, no, it is NOT the curse tendril from Jujutsu Infinite. I know some lil’ timmy is gonna come up and say that if I don’t mention this. My suggestion and that move are 2 separate things. Anyways, to the suggestion.
You know how a lot of other builds, for example warlord and warlock, can basically grab a player from longer ranges and just do all kinds of ridiculous things? For example, if you were 2v1’ed and a warlord stunned you while his buddy charged up an ultimate art, you’re taking 2000 damage probably just from that. I have found that snare just isn’t a very great spell in general, it’s casting range is abysmal, and very rarely do you ever hit someone with that without them just… running away before you cast it? (And forget about charging it too). Tendril is basically meant to be more of a precision but longer-range version of Snare.
Spell description: Manifest a rope-like shape of magic and then swing it at your opponent in an attempt to catch them with it. If successful, fire’s a series of blasts before roping them in and using a final blast to knock them back.
Minimum level: 110
First magic usage: 220 (And whatever magic level mult for 2 and 3)
Stat bars:
Arc length: Determines the degree angle infront of you that your tendril will swing toward. Less length = more damage
(60 degrees to 180 degrees)
Blasts: Determines the number of blasts you fire (Total damage up to devs on this one)
1-10 (Or more? Let me know in replies)
Swing direction: Changes the direction in which you swing the tendril on casting.
Directions:
Left → Right
Right → Left
Up → Down
Down → Up
Bottom right → Top left
Bottom left → Top Right
I’m up for more suggestions on this spell, lmk if anything needs a change/addition or removal. Also, let me know if this should be a lost spell instead of rare.
It would definitely be a lot better then having to get so darn near your opponent that they can M1 you just to snare them, I mean would you prefer that over a ranged one? (Also there’s a good chance it won’t work even if you get that close with normal snare)
i would vote for this if it werent for the fact that mages consistently eat too much. also snare is used to punish people who get too close that mages cant properly aim at them like berserkers. adding a ranged grab move basically renders snare completely moot
the only ranged grabs in the game right now that i know of are on weapons, and they very much barely work, and are completely disregarded, and giving mage on of these would be either incredibily underwhelming if its as inconsistent as the other ranged grabs, or absolutely overpowered
That is the problem with snare, you really can’t use that efficiently at all, AND it gets highly outclassed by explosion which does reliable damage and has a better hit rate. Snare just really cannot do anything most of the time even in PvE, let alone PvP. This is a ranged alternative that will actually be able to hit more often.
Tendril could also be pretty useful for combo stopping, for example, if a warlord is right up on you using ranged attacks non-stop, you could tendril them as a punishment and a way to knock them away from you.
Oh, no, it’s not. It’s basically you swinging it like a “Slash” in your chosen direction. Sorry for not replying to that sooner lol I didn’t check in on this in a while.
