These two moves are pretty similar in concept so I decided to just lump them together.

[ Intimidate - 150 Strength ]

Intimidate is a move with a temporary debuffing effect. The move has a wind-up of about half a second, before activating in a large radius around the user, making a loud sound and dealing low damage. Keep in kind that if the user is struck in the half-second window before the technique activates, it will be cancelled.

The effect lasts for 30 seconds. The move has a cooldown of 45 seconds.

Style:

The named status effect the target will be afflicted with. There are four options:

  • Hesitance: Adds initial windup to all moves of the afflicted.
  • Vulnerable: Reduces Max HP of the target. Keeps same% when effect expires.
  • Weakness: Reduces the damage output of the afflicted.
  • Sluggish: Reduces movement speed and super jump height of the afflicted.

Explosion Size:

Adjustable size, lower size means a faster casting time.

[170 Points] Type:

Changes the shape of the hitbox. Options:

  • Radius
  • Shockwave
  • Pillar

Animation:

Purely cosmetic, as it just changes the animation and the sound the technique makes, but here are some ideas:

  • Open Chest Roar
  • Lean-in Roar
  • Skyward Yell
  • Cupped-hand Shout
  • Open-armed Cry
  • Deadly Stare
  • The Look
  • Poetic Verse

[380 Points] Ultimate Art

Increases the size of the move significantly and the duration of the status ailment to a minute and a half, but costs more energy and has a far longer cooldown.

[ Hex - 150 Magic ]

Fires a small, skull-shaped projectile with afterimages, flying slightly faster than a regular Blast spell, has a much larger explosion radius upon impact, but deals low damage.

Effectively, Hex is a reverse Aura, letting the player inflict a debuff of their choice onto their opponent.

The affliced debuff lasts for 30 seconds. This move has a 45-second long cooldown.

Blast Size:

Adjustable size of the projectile.

Explosion Size:

Adjustable size of the impact explosion. Lower size means a faster casting time.

Casting Style:

Cosmetic, shares all selectable animations with the Blast spell.

[380 Points] Ultimate Art:

Increases the size of the impact explosion plus the speed of the projectile significantly, and increases the duration of the status ailment to a minute and a half, but costs more energy and has a far longer cooldown.

Very cool! debuffing moves are unique and seem fun

i really like it but I feel like Intimidate shouldn’t do any damage. Curse is good though :+1:

dont you think this is too op for an aoe move

Change curses name to either hex or jinx as to not mix it up with sea curse I’d recommend

Technically since it’s a stored %decrease it’s rquivalent to just making them take more damage for the duration (ex 10% maxhp decrease is like a +11% dmg buff towards them)

The strength of the debuffs can’t be very strong for a duration that long but I do think these are a perfect fit for the game. No idea how they’d scale with stats but I’m certain it could work well enough.

One idea for intimidation is instead of a pillar shape it could have a cone shape which really increases its length but now it has to be aimed with some accuracy. Also yeah hex is a better name for the spell. Also feel like the technique and spell should carry different debuffs but whatever.
