all im going to say is they are blatantly abusing custom magics and using “cry about it i make the game you play” as an excuse to just farm up to 1 million infamy on the leaderboard UNFAIRLY. their also just doing this to randomly kill people for no reason in particular, pretty sure they were GIVEN these custom magics so people wouldnt randomly kill THEM.
i myself have been saying this for awhile now but ravencrest IS LITERALLY the arcane odyssey mudock.
overall, custom magics are just an absolute shit show and should have had never existed in the first place. “b-b-but what about tech and vetex!” well you dont see clips of them indefinitely farming 500 million infamy in 3 minutes for their clan using their busted ass custom magics.
vetex should honestly just discipline ravencrest and put them on a tight ass leash made of titanium chains laced with steel alloy so they cant do this shit anymore i havent been a victim of this because i hardly do clan wars but people who HAVE been victims deserve justice for this shit
if i get any type of punishement for this then this is proving just how immature arcane odysseys moderation is as they are punishing whistleblowers for calling out the horible shit happening in this community
side note, we genuinely gotta get vetex do somethin about the moderation of this game because it actually fucking disgusts me seeing vetcord mods allowing some of the shit being posted in the discords and allowing ravencrest to get away with spec abuse
i fucking hate artcord, i fucking hate ravencrest and I fucking hate any person who abuses custom magics and power trips while thinking they’re the main character, but then when you look back all you do is give us more reason to clown on you
the forum mod team is different from the game/discord mod team.
If you get punished for this, its because you didn’t follow the forums rules and guidelines.
It’s good to see everything compiled into one video with references attached, something that hasn’t been done before to my knowledge. However, there is a minor correction I’d like to put out.
Spicytuna’s posts came from the forums, not the discord. IIRC, some things are automatically cross-posted to the discord, such as suggestions, art, and trading. It’s horrendous that he wasn’t banned far earlier than he was, though that’d be up to the forums mods, who aren’t as active as any other platform.
Other than that, this is certainly the most complete “expose” on Ravencrest/AO thus far. Another detail I would like to add regarding Ravencrest is that it’s likely heavily favored within the staff team as well. It has an official reference in game (hidden on the runes of the Makrianos king’s hammer) as well as being linked to Vetcord for patch note updates. Considering how scummy the clan is (from everything I’ve ever seen regarding them), it’s baffling how they’re thought decently of by anyone.
I am also disappointed in Tech for what he said in the Ravencrest server (I’m assuming? not sure where the screenshots are from), as other than this, he’s probably the best person with a custom magic.
In my opinion, not only should customs be bonked down to base magic stats, Ravencrest as a whole should be heavily penalized Vetex needs to take a look at what’s going on his community and take action, or else I don’t see a good future for the community. Especially Vetcord, that place needs much more action than anywhere else.
It’s likely that posts such as this will continue until the situation improves, which it won’t unless Vetex does something other than development. Ravencrest will continue being filth, customs will continue being abused, moderation (game/vetcord) will continue being poor, and moochezz will remain goated.
Anyway. I’m not ravencrest, or really associated with anyone from it outside the fact I’m a tester, but the point of the custom magics were to give breathing room to actually play the game.
None of you have the slightest clue how targeted contributors/game mods can get. @Forty-Eight had to avoid playing the game with his game mod tag just because he was nonstop hunted. Of course its different for everyone. I don’t think I’ve ever heard JTN talk about being targeted.
So Galaga, Xxael and Astral got custom magics so they could play the game without having to worry about gankers. That’s the history here.
So, I’m not gonna pretend I’m some big expert on this whole thing, but literally anytime its brought up, the three of them make a POINT that they only fight in self defense. Many people who share videos of being ‘unfairly attacked’ by these ‘abusers’ only share the parts of the gank where they would be classified as a victim, and are not showing the fact they were jumping one of them while they were minding their own business.
IS this the case 100% of the time? Can’t say for sure.
I am not going to pounce on Ravencrest here because I have heard both sides due to my unique status as a tester, and it’s more complicated than there just being one big bad you can wag your finger at for all your problems.
This shit though is completely asenine and has ZERO basis. The fucking image you are referencing is from the the MAIN server, yet you are claiming the ART server is the problem? The image referenced was posted by someone who has been muted on the official Ao server, and hasn’t been around arthub for months, so where is the ‘failure of moderation’ here?
If you are going to be one of those people who are just so stand-offish and just go ‘Oh the arts all inappropriate’, lemme show a little something to you.
I am going to scroll through the discord here, for the last 3 weeks of art, and show you this is literally normal artist stuff.
Hell I even include the non-ao related Art JUST to hammer this point home that the arthub is not some hub of degeneracy and is instead the bastion of creativity it advertises itself as.
Sorry, I can understand the drama with ravencrest, but I can’t stand seeing people just shit on arthub, ESPECIALLY with VERY harsh accusations like that. One person will make some horrid art just to make people uncomfortable for their own twisted amusement and then a bajillion people will virtue signal and attempt to shame and demonize the person who made it.
The reference is of course, BAD, but punishment is dolled out for these things, so again, where’s the problem? Spicytuna got punished too, like, the problem is people are just LOOKING for reasons to be upset. “Oh, you got this one, but you didnt do it fast enough so you’re still the villains.” Why are people so adamant about attacking a very large community of people because of the actions of like 3-4 individuals. Its so mob mentality it drives me crazy.
Which again, goes back to Ravencrest. I won’t entirely lie, there are some problems with mod clans. But Ravencrest has been demonized so much they basically have to always be on the defensive against people at this point. HOWEVER, again, not the first time a mod clan has been in a bad spotlight.
Anyone whose a regular here will remember Noble Phantasm. Xxael was the center of some drama back then too, because they sailed with people to gank some poor Dark Sea diver and the gankers used her cataclysm cannons (This is before her custom if you are out of the know).
BUT that was handled very swiftly. I imagine the community drama here will be followed with some solution for using customs in ganks. No matter Astrals personal side, its gonna be a bit hard to just ‘move on’ from this. Its not like its an isolated incident anymore.

I have seen the video. But I have also seen a video from the other perspective that shows them minding their own business, and I mean flatly, clan war going on, they aren’t helping, aren’t lifting a finger, then someone comes in and attacks them and trys to kill them. Only then do they defend, and only against that one person. Its a bit unfortunate that ‘defense’ for most of them is island nuking attacks.
NOW, you could make a point that they just shouldnt show up in general. Once you get past like, 3v3s, basically everyone with the icon is your enemy. Can’t fault a guy for not knowing he was attacking a walking atom bomb.
On the arthub thing again, the point I’m making here is that the video (and what you referenced) USED art, and SPECFICALLY the weird shit that was being drawn to prove that artcord was weird. I, in turn, showed you that the vast majority of them are just passionate creatives. They just want to share their art and have a community thats supportive of that.

As an active moderator in art hub I can confirm that everyone in this image is either not in art hub or banned, in spicytuna’s case he was banned long before he actually made the posts in cheems video
to add, cheems specifically was banned from art hub for accusing a 14 years old (at the time) and another artist of being a pedophile for drawing in chibi artstyle and chases the latter person across different servers about it, primary balancord
