So lost and ancient magics in AO are obtained through the use of finding their respective scrolls and then using them, rather than through awakening your next mind and choosing your next magic.
How would that work lore wise? What exactly are you reading from the scroll that allows you to learn the magic? If the answer to this question has already been resolved please link me to a source.
no idea whats on them till we all get our hands on one, but they obviously have to be pretty complex and difficult to make, let alone learn them. it might uptake somewhere in the soul most likely and least likely to be in some part of the body.
since everyone is using magic circles it wouldn’t be an issue if it’s stored in the soul as you use magic from your soul with the magic ur minds have anyway if you didn’t use circles. so i’d imagine it basically acts as another storage for magic but whether there is a limit lore wise isn’t exactly known. but safe to assume 2 is the most a person can do and anymore would likely be pk/ freedrock lvl idk.
The trello used to say you would imprint a hex mark onto your body after reading the scroll, so I assume that it uses your body to use the magic.
This is gone though so I doubt it’s still the actual method.
I think it’d be super cool if when you read it a a rune of the magics elemental symbol was placed on your body to represent that it’s not power from within you but power borrowed from outside of you. In game you’d be able to choose where it goes but lore wise reading the scroll and gaining its knowledge irreparably marked you.
