Reading Obscure Arcane Trellos: Fighting Styles

As I promised, I would eventually go through the trello and look at what was planned for fighting styles in arcane adventure.

The combat fighting style is rather simple, its devoid of any unique attributes or marital arts. Its simples strikes and kicks, with the uppercut being a move which is activated by a grab which leads to an automatic air combo, and the heavy strike being a lunge forward which hits hard and knocks the opponent back. The default combat fighting style will probably have similar skills in AO.

Magic fist is another fighting style in arcane adventure, but there is pretty much no chance at all this is coming back, since Warlocks will be able to imbued magic into all of their fighting styles in Arcane Odyssey after their awakening. The paralysis skill allows you to create a field of magic which creates a shockwave which stuns whoever it its, and also causes damage.

The boxing fighting style, which is pretty much confirmed to be in AO, is a fighting style which revolves around…punching fast and hard.

This move is the haymaker skill, which allows the user to wind up their arm and perform a powerful punch which hits so hard that it causes a wind shockwave! The second skill is similar to the lunging attack from the combat skill, but it punches right through projectiles. I’m not sure if it would nullify or reduce the damage from the attack, but regardless I can see this skill coming back in AO. It would be a decent tool that fighting style builds can use to get closer to people who prefer keeping their distance away, and seeing as how fighting style builds will most likely be the strongest up close, but not the best from a distance, a move like this would be useful.

The new fighting style here is the Swaying Fist. Its a fighting style which revolves around random punches and kicks which varies in damage and size, due to the user being…drunk. Being more drunk would enhance the abilities off this fighting style even more.

Now…Roblox was different back then, but I’m pretty sure it would be extremely hard to get away with this now. Its possible that “alcohol” could be substituted with something else, but I’m not sure if its worth the hassle, and I don’t think its the most interesting idea ever, anyways. What would even change if this fighting style was upgraded to a lost fighting style? Its cool to read about, but I don’t think that the addition of this fighting style is the hugest lost, the planned ones on the trello all look far more interesting to me.

Impact fist, which seems to be returning, is a fighting style which focuses on punching the air to build up energy and then releasing all of the energy at once to completely annihilate anyone it hits.

This attack was known for being busted in AA. The first skill fires a small shockwave with a low charge, and at higher charges, it launches a orb which explodes on impact. The second skill would pull in people close to them, and at lower charges, explode, which would send people backwards, and at higher levels, would send people FLYING.

Vetex said that this move will function differently, where you this skill would just focus on charging up energy in one part of their body, before being able to release it anywhere they want. How it would charge up is still being decided, so this skill is going to be significantly different in AO.

The new fighting style, thermo fist, shares some resemblance in how AA implemented impact fist. It seems now that it may be possible to keep the bar filled by continuing to attack people quickly rather than just punching the air, but we won’t know until it comes out.

Radius fist, another returning fighting style, focuses on manifesting willpower and mental strength and bringing it into reality, which extends the range of your punches and kicks.

The first two skills are standard punches and kicks, where the user exerts their willpower while doing so to increase its range. The third skill is a stomp which harms anyone who’s around the user, and the final skill sends all nearby users into the air with a powerful stomp, and then sends a flurry of radius bullets by punching fast. Overall, this seems like an overall well balanced fighting style which can be used midrange.

Cannon fist is a simple fighting style. You can chug cannon balls at people.

One of the planned skills allows a user to throw 40 cannon balls, while only using 10 in their inventory. They’re all thrown extremely fast, although the damage is reduced, for balance purposes. You can even throw Magic Cannonballs, which could do extra damage or potentially apply status effects. Overall, this is a decent option for fighting style users who want to be able to compete from a longer range, but you will to make sure you’re well supplied with cannonballs and also manage your stamina. Compared to the rest of the fighting styles that are showcases(besides basic combat) I feel like its implementation in AO is going to resemble how it originally was in Arcane adventures.

Knocking Fist was planned to become a fighting style in AA, but was never implemented. Its description is the same, it focuses on hitting vital parts of the body to stun the opponent.

A fighting style called lucky fist was also planned to be added, which was just a variation of combat that has a chance of doing extra damage in a hit. Imo, this would have either been a meme that was rarely busted if you’re lucky enough, or broken. I don’t think the concept is that exciting, although a luck based “Jackpot” fighting style which focused on you manipulating luck to gain various buffs would be an interesting fighting style(if you read jujutsu kaisen you catch my drift) but overall something like this would be controversial so I don’t think its the hugest lost.

Fighting styles would also gain a unique block(which would have either been used as the default blocking button, or made a new skill) with many different attributes. It would reduce the damage from physical attacks more than magic attacks, and percentage of the amount of damage reduced would go down the longer you hold it. Different fighting styles would have different animations. Perfect blocking melee attacks would reduce the amount of damage by 80% and stun the opponent for a second, and perfect blocking ranged attacks would reduce the amount of damage by 80%, while canceling out/deflecting the attack. This is a very cool concept and I hope Vetex adds magic deflecting to AO(maybe as an awakening for some fighting style builds such as Berserkers and Knights.)

That is all I can find for fighting styles, the last thing that I’ll do is just look at various
miscellaneous features and point out things that look interesting and would be cool to see in AO. Cya!

Too Long, Did’nt read but i nice to see to see that soem still does those long posts.

If impact fist was added to AO i think it would be cool to be a lighting one where you charge up static electricity.
