(REAL) curses tier list

since we don’t rly have too much info / feats on curses this is mostly going off vibes

S TIER

absorption - should be self explanatory, can potentially become a supercurse user with all the magics

lazarus - u could get lucky and never die

note that these curses are top 2 cus they have the highest potential

however, that doesn’t mean you can pick one up and instantly become top 1 in the verse

grand fire curses - we don’t rly have feats but they’re stated to be the strongest curses ever made, so just strong fire ig? i’d still put them below the top 2 cus those ones quite literally have unlimited potential (e.g. absorption curse user simply taking all the grand fire curses for themself)

A TIER

apocalypse bringer - said to be really strong i think idk, just sounds cool. i think it’s an ancient magic?

wave - since this verse is so magic focused the ability to just take that away from someone seems pretty op. i wonder if this could actually damage curse users since their body becomes pure magic

death - ancient magic curse self explanatory. i’d still put this below wave curse cus i can see the wave curse user just immediately disabling another curse user

shatter - sounds insanely destructive and powerful in a raw force kind of way

B TIER

sun and storm curses - interchangeable imo, similar to shatter where they’re strong in a raw energy way, but a step below

frostmetal - solid, durable, reliable physical magic curse

aether - so like… explosive light..? this seems like sun curse but slightly worse ngl. still b tier cus it’s a lost magic curse

darkness - feels like shadow magic but stronger. i don’t see this beating aether tho

lunar - i legit don’t know what this does. something something moon water. b tier cus it’s a lost magic curse

slash - sounds like a way worse version of shatter, still a lost magic tho :upside_down_face:

C TIER

wisdom - the knowledge and insight part seems cool. could be hella useful outside of combat. unfortunately it’s c tier cus i don’t see how it’s saving you from being blown up by the higher tier curses on this list

however, depending on the extent of knowledge, i could see the case being made to put this as high as A tier if it lets you become a theos-level mage

base magic curses - things like lightning fire and wind. i’m not gonna rank them individually cus that would take too long

cloud - pffft :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing: :laughing:

F TIER

lazarus curse if ur super unlucky - imagine not being able to swim or absorb other curses only to die on your first death

don’t ask me about cursebeard’s curses i can’t rmber them off the top of my head

the lazarus curse isn’t an elemental curse, meaning you are able to swim like normal

also the cloud curse is an elemental curse like any other, it in theory should be just as powerful as the rest

i think there’s levels to this

for example i think the guy who can create and turn into clouds is gonna have a hard time against the guy who can summon the unmatched power of the sun

same could be said about any curse with less firepower than the sun curse

id put wisdom higher, with it you have basically infinite knowledge about magic energy, and you could become an incredibly powerful mage, perhaps even on a similar level to theos

so wouldn’t cloud be up there with other lost magic curses then

even if it didn’t have the same destructive power as other curses, you have more than enough to make up for it

gonna get hit with something? poof into a cloud and dodge it (wink wink) , same thing with anything grab related

flying with your curse is also a very viable idea since it could very much blend in if you go high, unlike something like the fire or lightning curse

another idea is engulfing the surroundings with cloud, being able to phase in and out of your physical form at will and make it impossible for your opponent to hit you granted you have the destructive power (wink wink nudge nudge)

other curses can also do this for sure, but i wanted to clean up cloud’s reputation a little

you could do that with like half the curses on the list

i’m sorry but i don’t think cloud makes the cut

at the very most it’s above the base magics and below slash

also yeah you kinda described what i was thinking

it’s so weak u simply have to put in more effort and be more creative to be on equal footing

that’s fair enough

Energy curse should be high up since it gives the user infinite stamina and energy

i didn’t rank cursebeard’s ones cus i legit forgot about them

i’d put energy curse somewhere in b tier

cus while it gives u unlimited stamina, i don’t think it gives u the raw firepower needed to compete with the op curses

but energy curse on someone already super strong would be pretty powerful

energy does have a magic form and it is blue (i think), like some hypothetical thing that resembles plasma

probably wasn’t cursebeards choice since he also had blaze curse which was probably way better to use in combat than energy

I think the energy curse depends highly on the user. If you’re a super curse user it’s busted. You have infinite energy for your other curse(s). Other wise it’s good on anyone not a mage (curses make magic near impossible) though if you’re good with like a sword or better yet get a powerful one. You have infinite energy to use it. And time

honestly thinking about it, its kinda hard to rank the curses because their power is more based on the person

cazal for example, turned his wind curse which is pretty basic into something very overpowered, same with wotan who has a basic ass curse and yet is one of the worlds strongest

then look at morden whos a bum
