Really Interesting Combat Rework Proposal

This would honestly be extremely interesting, what are your thoughts about it? I personally would want to see what this combat would be like (though it would be a bit sad to lose so much vertical mobility outside of combat, but we have climbing jewels that’ll finally have a use so who cares, I wonder how dashes would be changed with this though).

honestly I think something cool would be to make a little sidegame like Pirate Party where he can test out how this combat could work, and if it’s cool and people like it, change it in maingame AO.

Read this also before saying “oh but this would make [X part of the current combat system] so broken/bad!”

Removing T-jumping is uhm… lets just say a horrible idea with how most islands are built right now.

have you heard of climbing it’s this really cool and extremely versatile method of climbing up stuff

also it wouldn’t take that much effort to like add a few rocks to places, plus the lack of t jumping would make stuff like the forest of cernunno and other places cooler to explore since you can’t just quickly jump up the mountains

This would absolutely suck. Way too late for a combat change and the people playing the game right now are already used to the aim based combat.

That and as of right now you basically NEED to be midair for most projectiles to work, otherwise they’ll just explode instantly.
Crash also needs to be used midair to work, as it hits the ground instantly otherwise.

better late than never, I think the current combat sucks ngl, and as I mentioned he can always pull a pirate party and make a side game to test it

this is probably why it would be more than just removing a t jump but also reworking how skills work, yes?

If he were to rework combat to be more ground-based then two things would have to change:

  1. Reducing the overall sizes of attacks as removing t-jump would decrease the amount of vertical mobility people have for dodging.
  2. Increasing base climbing speed to accommodate for how large some island are, especially dark seas on.

I’m personally all for it, and most of roblox’s RPG community is more accustomed to ground-based combat

I’m going to get tired of saying this but that’s exactly what a rework of combat would do, Vetex isn’t dumb enough to just delete the t jump code and make that the new combat

the aerial based combat is absolute PEAK
it’s the only reason me and a lot of other players i know play it
there’s just nothing else like it, while there’s a million grounded m1 based combat systems everywhere

aerial combat is NOT PEAK, fighting in 3 dimensions is very unfun
