now i’m gonna have to ham up on resistance in order to use a niche health stat.
why do you lot want to simply remove every stat??

To be fair, regeneration has no place in Arcane Odyssey when it is quite literally just an alternative defense stat. It’ll either be stronger or weaker than it, with its only real change being that it somewhat makes drawback weaker.

Resistance is also defense’s alternative.
AP is Power’s alternative.
And so on, I don’t see a reason for regeneration to not be there either, it allows for more fun builds and variations.
Who needs absurd amount of defense when you can tank with Resistance using a more risky but fun build, or have such strong regen to just outheal most attacks they do on you?
They should honestly just change Regeneration and other similar stats to be a worthy alternative to defense - not be a substat that does almost nothing

the hate most likely stemmed from the regenvant meta (vitmagwep savants) that would run away (tp backdashes) and outregen every attack while spamming hitscan projectiles
But is it regen’s fault? We can’t just nerf a stat to nothing because some people use it to run away, can we?
Balance team trying to not gut a stat because people use it in an “unintended” way: (impossible)
regen shouldnt have existed and theres no other playstyle in the game that compliments it other than you running away from your opponent so that you can outregen them in a battle of time
You’d have better luck waiting for the server to close than killing a regen player
But an attack by multiple could probably veto said regen
but literally every meta is ass and unfun in the game, except if I recall there’s only been like a single nerf to power (being how much a few armour sets give) and two nerfs for defence (first was the same as power and the second was not scaling natural regen)
I still don’t get why they had to kill swimming speed in combat.
Diving sets are objectively ass and unreliable for combat, especially pvp. Nobody would ever intentionally play with pvp toggled on and use a diving set, so the point of it being bad due to pvp fundamentally falls apart with FR.
Let me give you one: a zoner with many movement abilities to dash around the opponent, like Spiralling Fury, Mirrored River and Devastate
Yes, doing this elongates the fight, but you’re actually fighting, so its valid. Nobody says all fights shouldn’t last longer than 30 seconds. Regen is used to stall out and outheal, but all this relies on your ability to dodge attacks with your movement abilities and parry/block when needed
Wasn’t regen already kind of mid anyways, idk why the nerf was necessary
